Draco observed from a distance as the tension between Harry and Cedric reached its boiling point. Earlier, he had watched Cedric shamelessly flirting with a girl from their year, not bothering to hide it despite Harry's obvious discomfort.

The confrontation escalated quickly, words exchanged like swords, fueled by jealousy and frustration. Draco clenched his fists, torn between intervening and giving them space to sort out their differences.

Finally, Cedric, his face flushed with anger, turned on his heel and stormed away, leaving Harry standing there, his shoulders slumped as he sank to the floor, his gaze fixed on the ground.

Taking a deep breath, Draco approached Harry cautiously, his heart pounding in his chest. "Harry," he called softly, extending a tentative hand.

Harry looked up, his eyes filled with a mixture of emotions—hurt, anger, and something else that Draco couldn't quite decipher.

Without a word, Draco enveloped Harry in a tight embrace, feeling the tension slowly seep out of his friend's body as he leaned into the embrace.

Draco murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "This has to end, Harry."

Harry nodded, his arms wrapping around Draco in return, seeking comfort in the warmth of their embrace.

Draco pulled back slightly, meeting Harry's gaze with hesitation. "You know," he began, his voice steady despite the butterflies fluttering in his stomach, "if I were in Cedric's place, I'd give you the world. I'd do anything to make you happy."

Harry's eyes widened in surprise, a flicker of hope dancing in their depths. "Draco..." he whispered, his voice barely audible over the pounding of Draco's heart.

Draco swallowed hard, pushing down the surge of nerves threatening to overwhelm him. "I mean it, Harry," he said, his voice unwavering. "I'd give you everything."

Draco's heart skipped a beat as Harry abruptly pulled away from their embrace and dashed out of the room. Panic surged through him, his mind racing with fears that he had said something wrong, that he had pushed Harry too far.

Without a second thought, Draco followed, his footsteps echoing in the empty corridor as he chased after his friend further down the empty halls.

What he saw took his breath away.

Harry stood in the center of the corridor, his shoulders tense, his gaze fixed on Cedric, who looked stunned by Harry's sudden appearance.

"I can't do this anymore, Cedric," Harry said, his voice shaking with emotion. "I started dating you because I expected you to treat me well, not like this... We have to break up."

Cedric's expression hardened, his fists clenched at his sides. "What are you talking about, Harry? Everything was fine until you started acting all jealous and possessive."

Harry shook his head, his eyes brimming with tears. "It's not about jealousy, Cedric. It's about honesty. You were nice for the first two months but after I felt like shit. You didn't bother making time for me, and even when when I planned something you always had a way to excuse it. With Umbridge around and my nightmares, I expected you to help me and be there for me but all you did was make it worse."

Draco's heart ached as he watched the scene unfold before him, realizing with a jolt of clarity what Harry meant. He had been so caught up in his own fears and insecurities that he had failed to see the turmoil brewing beneath the surface of Harry's heart.

"I'm sorry, Cedric," Harry said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I can't be with someone who I can't trust, who doesn't understand me. I deserve better than that."
