S2 - Chapter 3: Old Enemies

I hated that I wasn't able to go with the others. I felt so useless, more a burden.

All I did was lay in my bed while the others were out risking their lives trying to find Lucy. It made me sick to my stomach.

As I laid there, I felt a chill run down my spine. The room suddenly began to shift from cool to hot. Then to cold again. Over and over the temperature shifted until it stopped at neutral.

???: "The Amazons did quite the number on you~"

The voice sent a rush of adrenaline through my body.

Seth.

I looked around, however I didn't see him anywhere.

???: "That Hali, I always do enjoy her streams~ Watching her take down Demigods left and right. But I do enjoy the classics of her living up to her assassin title~"

Mia: "G-Get out of here!!!"

I didn't know if he was actually here or if I was just going insane.

???: "What? Do you think I'm in your head?"

Suddenly, the form of Seth's jackal body appeared at the base of my bed.

Seth: "I'm all too real~"

I screamed and tried to run, however I couldn't even sit up.

Mia: "H-Help!! Seth is here!!!!"

The door slammed shut, followed by the sound of pounding on the door and yells from other Amazons on the outside.

Seth: "My dear Mia... We can't have others interrupting my offer~"

Mia: "O-Offer?"

Suddenly, a sphere formed in front of me, glowing a pale blue aura. Something formed inside the sphere, like it was a tv. When I saw what was there, my heart stopped.

I saw Mom, Emiko. She looked way younger than I remembered, probably my age. She had been tied up to posts in the desert in front of a massive castle. The sun beat down on her while she wore nothing, whip marks covering her body. She was passed out, but I could still see signs of her crying.

Mia: "I-I'll fucking—"

Seth: "Kill me? It seems to be a popular thing to say to me"

He pointed his razor sharp claw at me, pointing right at my throat.

Seth: "My plan is nearly complete, however there is still time for you and your mother~"

I stared at him.

Seth: "Make the same deal I made with your Mother. In exchange for whatever you ask, you will be sent to my realm to serve me"

Mia: "Why would I ever do that?!"

Seth: "Because you can request that I stop torturing your mother of course~"

Those words repeated in my head.

Seth: "Believe me, the soul can endure much more than a body can. I know every possible torture I can inflict that won't destroy her. There are many, many ways to increase her suffering. However you can stop all of that by making this deal"

Mia: "What the hell do you even want?! Why are you doing all of this!!"

Seth: "Do you take me for an idiot? I'm not going to tell you what my plan is, but I will tell you that those who exist in my world will be free from the destruction that is to come~"

He held out his hand.

Seth: "Do we have a deal~?"

Every bone in my body was telling me no. I was to punch him in the face and tell him to screw off.
