S2 - Chapter 4: The Past

Lucy

I had never seen Lucas like this, ever.

He cried into me, holding me close with an iron grip. I held him tightly as well, letting him get his emotions out.

Lucy: "You... you didn't do anything wrong..."

Lucas: "I did...! I couldn't protect you...! I couldn't protect Dad...! I couldn't protect Aunt Emiko...!! I was absolutely useless!!"

Despite how much of a jerk he could be at times, he was the strongest Demigod I knew, besides Mom and Dad. He always seemed so far beyond my reach, something I always wanted but would never get to.

But that meant I always saw him as a goal, something that I had to get to so I could be like him, that I focused on that. I completely ignored the fact he was my brother.

Lucy: "I'm just as much to blame, I didn't do much either..."

Lucas: "Mom made me promise to protect you... I... I wasn't strong enough..."

Lucy: "Even Dad wasn't strong enough, don't put that on yourself"

Lucas: "Bella told me you feel the same way I do. You blame yourself too, don't give me that crap"

Lucy: "I... I do. But I'm not going to let it happen again"

Lucas: "What do you mean?"

I sat him down on the big bed, sitting next to me.

Lucy: "I've been training here, constantly. Brittany has been showing me how to fight, how to use my weapons and items to my advantage. I lost the powers I got from Seth, so I had to learn to fight with what I have"

I gripped my dagger.

Lucy: "I'm not going to be useless anymore. I will fight with all of you just as I should've done in the first place"

Lucas: "You've... really grown, huh?"

Lucy: "I guess you could say that"

I placed my hand on his shoulder.

Lucy: "We're gonna get Dad and Aunt Emiko back"

Lucas: "How do you plan to do that?"

Lucy: "I'll tell you when everyone else is around, come on"

The two of us made our way downstairs, where everyone had gathered around a large dining table. Bella and Brittany sat at the head of the table while everyone else sat on either side of the table.

Bella: "Welcome back you two"

Sky: "Hope nothing Sweet Home Alabama happened up there~"

Idril elbowed Sky in her side.

Lucy: "Who are you?"

Sky: "I-I'm Sky! And ow! That hurt!"

She pouted at Idril.

Lucas: "The Gods freed her from Tartarus to help fight The Destroyer. But she's super strong, the daughter of Apophis"

Lucy: "L-Like Dad?!"

Sky: "Yep!~ So that makes me your Aunt!~"

Lucy: "You look the same age as us"

Sky: "Yeah, Tartarus does that"

She immediately began munching on a plate of salmon that was in front of her.

Lucas: "Listen up everyone, Lucy has a plan for where we go from here"

Everyone turned their attention to me, except for Sky who kept eating.

Lucy: "I've studied a lot this year during my training and I've learned of a way we can rescue Aunt Emiko"
