Esther woke up as God's light shone in from the windows.
The sun rises every day. She grabbed her phone from the bedside table. It was almost 11 in the morning. Esther never overslept that long when having guests over. Most of the time she would usually wake up before everyone else. She checked her phone and saw a message from Leigh saying: I'm really sorry Esther for everything. Don't worry I'll make things right just give me some time. I will always be your best friend. Betraying you is something I won't ever do. I'd die before doing that. Know that I never meant to hurt you.
Esther felt her eyes well up with tears. She tried calling him but he didn't pick up. With a sob, she went through her other messages. Alina said that she wanted to hang out again sometime soon. Lilia told her the same thing. They wanted to get to know her supernatural friends. Esther didn't want them to get caught up in all of this. She couldn't let them get hurt by Achernar. Not after finding out that Leigh was his brother. Leigh had gone with him. Esther could only pray Achernar wouldn't do anything to him and keep his promise of saving Leigh's mother. Achernar was a demon, he can't be trusted.
Her father sent a text which said: Hello my beautiful daughter <3 u alive? Esther laughed upon reading her dad's text. He was always sending her funny messages. Her father would always make her laugh and he's the funniest person who's the absolute best. Esther saw a message from her mother saying: Hi Esther how are you? We want to come by to visit you soon. Please come back home because we miss you. I love you <3
Esther could feel the tears forming in her eyes again as she read her mom's text. She was the best person in her life. Esther always thought her mother was an angel. Now that she found out God and angels were real, she wished she could tell her parents everything. But she couldn't. She couldn't put them in danger. Especially not when Achernar already got to Leigh.
Willie the cat jumped up on her bed. He meowed and greeted her. She pet her cute orange tabby.
Finally deciding to get out of bed, Esther picked out a pair of clothes for the day. She chose a cream colored sweater with black leggings and mismatched socks. Esther refused to be bare feet in front of her new attractive friends and couldn't even do that with her own close ones. Lots of annoying insecurities tugging her down. Don't worry, no foot fetishes here. Huh? So random author... Not judging those who like that, since hands— Hand kink...no tush booty, wings, or thighs. Author stop being problematic. I'm sorry. Too much, not lightening up the mood that was already lightened. Esther stood by the door to listen. Everyone was probably already up by now. She couldn't keep her own guests waiting. Esther thought about Orion and what he had done for her last night. Her heart was melting by just thinking about him and the words he said to her. She didn't know what love was, but Esther felt like she had fallen for the archangel who had been a star. They were stars who fell in love with each other after wishing upon the other and uplifting one another.
Esther opened the door and peeked out of her bedroom. She could hear laughter and chatter coming from downstairs. This made her heart feel warm. No one could ever be or feel lonely when having those ten stars around. She quietly made her way to her bathroom and did her daily morning necessities. When she was done it was around 11 am. Her stomach was growling and Esther could smell something delicious from her living room. As she made her way downstairs as silently as she could and failed because the steps kept creaking under Esther's feet, she ran back up to her room to do something. Hopefully none of them noticed her presence or heard the nose she made when coming down and running back up.
She went back into her bedroom to check her reflection. The swelling of her eyes had gone down which was a relief. Usually when she cried, Esther's eyes looked even much worse when waking up in the morning. She would have to stay home and wouldn't go out to not be seen like that. Scowling at herself in the mirror as she does every single day won't change anything. She took the tips of her index fingers and started pinching at the tip of her nose to try and slim it down, attempting to give it more of a lift. Esther does this daily. It works, but only temporarily. When she smiles or laughs, it just ends up going back to the way it was before again.
Esther thought of her supernatural friends who were so effortlessly perfect. They had no imperfections because they weren't human. She thought of beautiful Cassiopeia who's angelic features went so perfectly with her face. The shape of her nose and eyes just complimented each other and went together beautifully with the archangel's face. Esther found that she would always keep trying to do things in efforts to look better. Nobody else had to put in so much effort, only her. If only she couldn't care and just stopped trying. Why do looks even matter? She never cared this much when she was younger. Only when she started to grow older, she kept trying to please society in desperate attempts to be liked due to not having a personality or brain to make up for not having the looks. It was to satisfy herself to look the way she wanted. She couldn't achieve it. It hurt to keep wishing that she looked like everyone else who was beautiful. If only she could go from a potato to a french fry, peel back the imperfections from the outside, she was sorta good on the inside with her heart, mind, and soul in the right place at the very least. Her close friends didn't have to worry because they were all perfect. Being with them always made her feel so insecure. People who weren't close to Esther would always body shame her by asking if she ate. They would call her a twig or chopstick due to her being skinny. She could eat a lot when she wanted to and does, but just didn't gain weight. Her friend Lilia had a beautiful plus size body shape with an hourglass figure. Lilia was always saying how she wished she had Esther's body. This made Esther feel terrible because she wished Lilia knew how perfect she was. Esther wished she looked like Lilia.
She thought about what Orion had said to her last night of how he wished he could give Esther his eyes so she could see herself in the way that he saw her. If only Esther could make him see himself the way that she saw him, she would give him her eyes without any hesitation. She would gladly exchange her eyes with him if it meant that the fallen star could see how much goodness still resided within him. He didn't have to do what he did for her, but he did. Orion was there for her. He chose to stay and not leave her alone to cry by herself. Just for that, he became her world, while she became his universe. His looks weren't all there was to him. He was so much more than just that. Looks are trivial and shouldn't even matter at all. Orion's heart, mind, and soul were just as beautiful as he was. What you saw was seeing all of him, inside and out at the same time.
"Esther?" Ten stars were peaking through her door which she had forgotten to close. She wasn't even thinking of that doing that and mindlessly forgot. Esther jumped in surprise as she broke out of her thoughts. Apparently Naos was knocking on her door, but she was too lost in thought. Didn't she close the door? Yup. It just wasn't locked. Esther was always getting lost in her mind, being sucked into her own head and being unable to escape. That's why she had to distract herself to not feel things. She hated feeling so much. Just seeing her supernatural friends standing by her door because they came to check on her, was enough to make Esther want to cry. She was so sensitive to the littlest of things. Esther hated being perceived which was kind of what was exactly happening at the moment now.
Naos hesitantly stepped inside and went over to hug her. The rest followed in after. "What was that you were doing with your nose?" Vega asked. Esther's face felt hotter than the sun and she laughed in embarrassment. "You guys saw that? I'm sorry. I do weird things sometimes because I'm weird. I'm sure you can already tell." Vega shook his head and he looked so enthralling. "You're not weirder than any of us Esther. Is being weird such a bad thing? If you're weird then what are we?" Esther embarrassingly smiled as she tried patting down her hair. "We're all mad here right?" He smiled and nodded his head approvingly. "Si chica." Spica gave her a thumbs up and she blushed. Vega was already making her embarrassed enough and now she had to deal with embarrassing herself in front of all of them. Must be nice to be Esther right? I wish I was her. But I can't ever be, which is why I had to create her. Muahaha! Shut up author, back to the story! Focus.
"Does doing what you did make you get a nose lift? I've got to try it." Dschubba tried copying what Esther did. "No! Of course not. Your nose is already ridiculously perfect, you don't need to do that!" Esther exclaimed. How could Dschubba be the smartest of the deadly sins but be so completely unaware about her own beauty? Esther needed to give the seventh deadly sin of envy, her eyes so Dschubba could see how stunning she was. It's impossible to look like that and envy others because others are envying her. Does she not even know with that sexy brain of hers?
Dschubba raised an eyebrow looking confused. "But yours is already perf—" Tiaki cut her off. "Esther!" He clicked his tongue at her. "There is no problem with your nose. I think Scheat should give you his glasses. You must be going blind with your eyesight. That's the real problem here from what I see!" Scheat took out his glasses from his pocket and handed them over to Esther. "Do you need to check your eyes?" He asked this with the most innocent look on his face. Scheat's doe eyes were growing wide with curiosity which only made him cuter than he already was. "Leave your face alone." Vega told her and she couldn't look at him. "You're just like Dschubba, it's sad."
Esther and Dschubba exchanged clueless looks with each other because both of the girls didn't know how others saw them with how much beauty the two had. They were always too caught up in their envy, wishing to look like others, while others wished to look like them. Aljanah let out a loud yawn on purpose. "You're all so hot at this point, it's getting annoyingly boring now. Stop putting me to sleep." She said this while being the hottest one. Her freckles were visible in the sunlight and Aljanah's fiery natural red waves were striking. "Says you—" Both Esther and Dschubba said at the same time and then laughed upon realizing they responded to the seventh deadly sin of wrath simultaneously.
"I didn't think there was anyone similar to Dschubba but Esther could be her lost sister! Unidentical twin beauties. Twinsies!" Naos put her arms around the two of them. Esther and Dschubba felt closer to each other already. Sisters from another mother, different mothers. Brothers being that of Leigh and Achernar from the same father... The demon was an enemy and foe, they could only hope his half blood brother wasn't his ally. "See? You're so one of us Esther." Vega said. "The sun has risen! The sun comes out, tomorrow~ Esther you're our rising sun." Spica sang and his voice was lovely. They were all making her feel so much better and she appreciated it a lot. All of them sung with the seventh deadly sin of greed. Their voices were beautiful, Cassiopeia's was a blessing. They could all be a singing group. Orion didn't sing, but was smiling and nodding with the softest of head banging, if you can even call it that. Esther pretended to sing along, mouthing the lyrics whereas no sound came out of her except for the popping of her lips pressing together as she was a faker at singing. Now her face hurt from smiling this much. How could they all be so nice? Call them the seven deadly kindest sins with three angels sent from God. "Oh Esther!" Rigel came over to Esther. "You must have some breakfast. It was wonderful. Dschubba made the most bestest meal ever. It was a blessing like your pancakes!" Dschubba turned red. "I hope you don't mind that I used your kitchen Esther. We all wanted to do something for you because you're our friend. We cleaned everything up so there's no mess, don't worry. Your home is beautiful just like you."
Esther hugged Dschubba instinctively. "I don't mind at all. Honestly, thank you. Thank you guys so much. Do you even know how beautiful you are Dschubba? Cut out my eyes, leave me blind, just take my eyes so you can see yourself!" Dschubba started laughing as she hugged her long lost sister Esther back. "Want my eyes? So you can see yourself too." The rest of them howled with laughter. "Esther is just like Dschubba! They're one and the same person!" Tiaki was laughing the loudest with his windshield wiping laugh squeaking. He had to wipe away tears from his amethyst eyes from cracking up too much.
"Come now Esther. You must eat." Cassiopeia came over and took Esther by the arm. "YES QUEEN!" Esther and the seven deadly sins said. Cassiopeia chuckled like they were all her children, exchanging looks with Orion and Rigel. The two related stars smiled and shook their heads, trying not to laugh. Yes mother. Mommy? Author STFU!
Orion put a hand over Esther's head. He seemed to mistake her a lot for Willie the cat. "We saw you coming down before. You ran upstairs just to do ridiculous things to your face again?" He shook his head and smirked at her. "How nonsensical you are as always." Esther's face heated up like an oven. She had slept together with him, like just beside each other, but you know! It was hard for her to act normally around him like she always did. Esther playfully smacked him as he and Naos high-fived each other. Since when did those two become besties? He must like her. It made Esther happy that Orion had become friends with the seven deadly sins too. He seemed comfortable with them now. The seven deadly sins and three archangels were the best bunch. Ten amazing stars. Esther felt like she was the only star who wasn't shining while everyone else shined so brightly. Little did she know that everyone saw how bright she shone. All except for her. One can only see themselves through the eyes of others and we can't. Unless it's a freaky Friday situation or something. Esther shined the brightest of them all without even knowing it. Each of the stars had each other to shine equally together. They were the colors in the dark, patching one another's broken heart of gold. They're here for you, are you here for them too? The stars aren't afraid. We can be the renegades. We are~
Everyone else went for second rounds since it was around lunchtime now as they all sat together at the table with their eleventh star, that being their sun. Esther had the best breakfast she had ever tasted in her entire life. She was tempted to ask Dschubba to marry her like the way one says: MIN YOONGI MARRY ME I'LL SUE YOU! Author give up.
MARRY ME DSCHUBBA IVY I'LL SUE YOU! The seventh deadly sin of envy? More like the seventh deadly sin of being envied! Insert Tiaki's windshield wiping laugh here that I'm sorry for plagiarizing from Kim Seokjin. This author plagiarized! Cancel her!
"I will make my specialized teriyaki chicken later!" Tiaki said. "My name sounds just like teriyaki! Tiaki? Teriyaki! My name is in teriyaki, just take out the 'ery'!" He was the only one laughing at his own joke which made the others give in and start laughing. Just the sound of him laughing was enough to make one laugh. "You all are hilarious." Orion had a hand over his stomach. His eyes were a serene ocean blue and he seemed so calm. "Why thank you Mr. Handsome but I'm still number 1! You finally lightened up I see! Hang out with us and we will bring out the real you. I know there's a silly crackhead inside hidden somewhere! We will find your secret cray cray." Tiaki slapped his thigh and nudged Orion. "Ha enlighten me." Orion barely got annoyed anymore, he just smiled and looked so relaxed. "Cheers to our new bro! Cheers to our new friends!" Spica raised his cup of coffee. They all clinked their cups together. "CHEERS TO US STARS!"
It wasn't said but these stars would give up their lives for each other. They needed somebody to die for. They needed somebody to cry for. When they were lonely, eleven stars weren't alone when holding up the weight of the world because they had each other, never walking alone. If only stars could see themselves the way they saw each other. They'll drag each other from the ocean, pull one another from fire, and open up the sky when shadows bring them down. They give their devotion to one another, saving each other and turning temptation down. For they are each other's miracle with broken hearts of gold, being the light. I'll be your eyes when you can't see from being blind. I'll be your wings when you can't fly. You are my miracle, I give all of my devotion to you.
