The Prisoner of the Leaf

Chapter 3; Our first mission

Konan woke up to sunlight peeking through his windows, he seemed to be the first one up as he couldn't hear Sasuke- he had moved in the day before after revealing to Sasuke, the truth behind his eyes; Sasuke had insisted that he lived in the Uchiha Clan complex as one of it's last living members and who was he to refuse free housing, he decided to thank Sasuke for the room by cooking breakfast which he didn't really know how to do but he was sure he could figure it out.

An hour and a fire later, Sasuke was laughing at the kitchen table after having to make breakfast and put out a fire at 7 in the morning, he never knew someone so bad at cooking and couldn't control himself from chuckling at the pure chaos that Konan had made out of cooking something as simple as breakfast;

Konan; " Ok is all the laughing neccessary? I didn't do that badly? "

Sasuke; " Didn't do that badly? You managed to serve raw bacon and at the same time somehow burnt the eggs so bad that they literally burst into flames bigger than my fireball jutsu!! "

Sasuke laughed more, tears falling from his eyes in pure hysterics as he nearly peed from how much he was laughing, he had never been this happy before but his stoic side had managed to be pulled away as he was no longer alone; Konan sighed and thanked Sasuke for the breakfast before eating whilst maintaining a pout on his face in regards to his brother who couldn't seemed to stop laughing at his failure, he threatened Sasuke not to tell anyone but he knew that somehow people would find out. They finally left the house and began walking together to the Hokage mansion for their mission, not knowing what they were doing but hoping it was better than the cat mission Sasuke had to go through, Konan wasn't there but he had heard stories of the dreaded cat catching mission and planned on running if he had to do it aswell. The brothers enetered the office to see that the other's were already there and waiting, Konan didn't pay much attention to what happened next but the jist of it was that Naruto complained about not having a good mission and that they were ready for bigger and then something about a bridge builder, he watched as the door opened and a drunk looking man walked in and stared at them all;

Man; " these are the ninja's that will help me? that one's a pipsqueek! "

Naruto began looking between them all assuming he was talking about Sasuke but began to notice the heights as they went in order from: Kakashi as an adult obviously, Konan who was just tall, Sasuke who was up to Konan's shoulder, Sakura and then Naruto as the smallest which made him, the pipsqueek; he immediately started throwing insults at the bridge builder but was soon stopped as he was a client, they were debrieffed about the mission and told that it was a simple escort mission and to meet at the front gate in an hour after collecting their supplies. Sasuke and Konan walked back home, stopping on the way as Konan seemed to notice a certain blonde in a flower shop- he admired her and smiled before she turned and noticed him, she waved and he immediately started blushing and rushed away with Sasuke back towards the house to collect their things. They managed to grab everything they would need, Kunai, shuriken and even some wierd hand wraps that Konan got from who know's where but by the wierd markings on them, Sasuke could tell they would be trouble if he got to close to his psychotic brother whilst he was using them.

They met the rest of Team 7 at the gate, Kakashi being fashionable late as always which earned everyone's ire but alas they managed to set off only slightly behind schedule, walking out of the village with the bridge builder as the kids of the team started making small talk- mainly asking Konan what prison was like and wondering why Sasuke as a lot more chirpy and happy than usual, who knows if sakura started to lose interest in Sasuke but she didn't seem to put as much effort into getting his attention as she usually would. Konan was the first to notice as Kakashi seemed to stop at a puddle on the side of the road, odd, Konan thought to himself as not only had it not rained recently but he swore blind that he could sense chakra coming from the puddle of water- as soon as the thought crossed his mind, he saw two ninja come flying out of the puddle and slice Kakashi in half, ofcourse it wasn't the real Kakashi as Konan could sense his chakra elsewhere but he decided to play along and lazily walked forwards in front of the team before the ninja could attempt to attack, he wanted to show off to Kakashi and activated his Sharingan willingly, locking eyes with the two Ninja who seemed to assume it was only used to copy justu like Kakashi of the sharingan does and as soon as their eyes meet his, the team watch as the ninja burst into flames having been placed under one of Konan's many lethal Genjutsu that he had created;

Konan; " Kurama clan lethal genjutsu, Konan Style number 8: Devilish Crucifixion "

He says with a smirk, Kakashi coming from the trees to the Team's suprise, he looked shocked that a kid that small could kill that easily but again he was an anbu at around that age and Konan had killed more that this before despite it being an accident, he must have come to terms with it long ago; they watched as Konan quickly passed out, he wasn't full uchiha and despite having a pure sharingan- couldn't control it easily due to it mixing with his other clan's chakra and DNA, Kakashi would have to carry him until he woke up which would be in a couple hours after they run into a white rabbit in summer...
