Chaper 23: Upgrades people.. upgrades

Konan woke up, looking at Ino who hugged him happily in her sleep. He got up slowly as she woke up and looked at him, rubbing her eyes as she saw him beginning to get out of bed.

Ino: " hey, where are you going? "

Konan: " Oh morning, just need to report to Tsunade and then run an errand- I promise I'll be back soon ok? "

She reluctantly nodded and went back to sleep, Konan quickly left the house through an open window and headed towards the hokage mansion- walking along the empty village streets as shops hadn't begun to open yet. He liked the peaceful atmosphere around the village recently, heading into the office once he reached it as he was let inside quickly by guards as they didn't stop or question him.

He made it to the office, opening the door as he headed straight in- Lady Tsunade was already at her desk, expecting him as she smirked seeing him walk in happily. She leant back in her chair and looked at him, gesturing to the table. Konan threw the scroll containing Danzo's preserved head onto the table and let the woman summon it, she looked and confirmed it was the target.

Konan: " I guess you heard the news before I even got here "

Tsunade: " I mean naturally, a village elder suddenly disappears and there were signs of an attack but no one has found his body? I knew it was you, you got strong enough to fight him? "

Konan: " No, I wasted two years for nothing- the guy was easy enough to kill as soon as he locked eyes with me. I killed him with ease, put him in a genjutsu and he had no idea "

Tsunade: " You're one scary guy you know that- so with your skills in infiltration, sabotage and assassination. How do you feel becoming the official leader of the Anbu? "

Konan: " I'm barely 17 are you sure? "

Tsunade: " Many promising anbu in the past have been young- tell me did you take the eyes and arm from Danzo? "

Konan: " how did you know? "

Tsunade: " Orochimaru.. "

Konan: " You speak to him? "

Tsunade: " Not openly or frequently but things are passed along, he told me that he had a deal with someone in the village so I assumed it was you since you seem to have connections "

Konan: " You think I'm that sly? "

Tsunade: " Am I wrong, you know I know about the... other thing... don't you? "

Konan: " best medical ninja in the world, guess I can't slip past you huh? Yeah I knew you knew, I had a feeling by the way you looked at me "

Tsunade: " Would you allow me to run some tests on you one day "

Konan: " Sure, I'll take it that you're offering me something in return though? "

Tsunade: " Naturally "

Konan: " Good, anyway I'll be leaving now- gotta make a buisness venture "

Tsunade: " With a snake "

Konan nodded, jumping from the hokage office window- Konan hadn't agreed to the position directly but she could tell she'd get his answer soon. Konan quickly ran through the village- his speed having improved greatly as he was basically a blur now and moved through gathering crowds on the street for morning markets. He headed out of the village and out of the forest with haste until he came upon a large cave and slipped inside.

The cave was dark, echoes bouncing from wall to wall with great ease as Konan walked through the dimly lit passage. Soon he came upon a large door, knocking gently as he stepped back to allow the large door to open. Stood before him was sasuke who looked massively different, they looked at one another before hugging happily- a group of people behind him gasped at the emos display of affection.
