Chapter 13: Blood and Bones

Konan was the first to pass the second stage of the exam, entering the pagoda in the middle and opening both scrolls to indicate he had completed the test, A jonin appeared and checked both before escorting Konan safely out the forest and towards a waiting room for the Konoha shinobi, the room was decked out with snacks and drinks for everyone to enjoy- he sat back and relaxed in the waiting room that overlooked the arena that he assumed would be their next exam placement.

After about 20 minutes, another team entered as a Konoha group passed- team 10 walked in and looked shocked to see him there;

Shikamaru; " and here I was assuming we were quick enough to get there first, yet here you are oh great junior beast of the leaf "

Konan; " Don't call me that Shika, how you lot doing anyway "

Shikamaru; " fine except someone had a chance run in "

Konan looked behind shikamaru at an angry looking Ino raging outside the room not having noticed they weren't alone, she was tapped on the shoulder by choji and was about to snap at him before he pointed to Konan who waved at her- the beast instantly became tamed as she blushed at the fact he saw her sudden outburst, he laughed at the sudden change in emotion and beckoned her to sit with him; Ino rushed over and jumped into his arms happily, sitting on his lap as they looked over the arena;

Konan; " So you ran into Sakura I guess? "

Ino; " Oh don't get me started, we were about to leave when they ran up to us, Sakura tried starting a fight with me and luckily the boys held us both back- I so wanted to pummel her face in, stupid billboard brow "

Konan; " Oh she tried fighting you did she, I guess she hasn't learnt her lesson "

The two stayed in one another's embrace for a while longer, holding eachother despite not dating yet (which the other two there didn't believe), soon enough more teams could be heard passing their door meaning more and more had finished the exam- more Konoha teams joined them as all but team 7 were there, Konan hoped they hadn't failed but also wish they did to teach Sakura a lesson. They were talking for a while, all excited to see what the next stage was before the door flew open and a certain loud blonde announced his enterance- Konan smiled knowing they passed and were ok but gave a death glare to sakura who's hair was now cut short.

Sasuke walked over to his brother and Ino, sitting beside them and smiling- he apologised for Sakura's actions as they waited in the room for the exam to be announced. Later, the last team entered another room and a proctor arrived in the middle of the arena, looking around as his voice was transmitted via chakra telling all students to make their way to the arena. All students headed down in front of the giant finger statue and waited, looking around as they smirked and wanted to see who'd they fight. The rounds were announced one by one as everyone waited in front of the proctor to hear their name, Konan grinned as he was against a random sound ninja who seemed strong but headed to the rafters to wait his turn.

The fights were exillerating, Konan enjoyed watching the fights go on and patiently waited his turn- watching his opponent across the railings carefully to see if he noticed anything but that was when he did, the guy walked slugishly and seemed to bend his body in weird oddly flexible ways which was something the man who attacked him in the forest did but this was a completely different person, wasn't it? he thought. Konan believed the wierd snake like behaviours may be a clan thing and kept a close eye on his opponent before they were both called down- Ino gave him a kiss on the cheek before he left and now he was more pumped than ever.

The two faced eachother as Konan smirked, lumbering up as the proctor asked if they were both ready- they gave a nod of affirmation and quickly started to move at eachother. Konan went in for a punch but the sound ninja quickly dodged it by bending his body at a wierd angle before quickly returning the favor with a kick aimed at Konan's chest; he managed to block but was sent back a bit. Konan looked at the man and wondered something, quickly beginning to weave the signs for his gravity jutsu when the ninja reacted and jumped back before looking around as if he'd seen it before.

Konan; " Gotcha, I had a suspicion but not I'm certain, this jutsu is one of my own creation so there's no way you should know it and the guy I faced before vanished- I'm assuming you planned this and somehow switched bodies? "

Ninja; " You're quite perceptive aren't you, but that doessssn't matter know doessss it? Let'sss fight kiddo "

They looked at eachother and grinned, Konan quickly ducking low into a ninja run with his arms back- reaching for kunai in the pouch on his back as he grabbed a few and drew them, throwing a couple at the ninja who deflected or dodged them and kept coming closer. The two reached eachother and exchanged a couple more blows before jumping back and weaving hand signs at the same time

Ninja; " Fire style; Fireball jutsu "

Konan; " Earth Style; Rock wall "

A wall of rock quickly arose and blocked an oncoming torrent of fire, Konan used this to his advantage and rushed forwards and around the wall towards the ninja who was waiting for a counter-attack, he saw Konan approach and quickly tried to defend himself when he saw Konan's smirk and released, they locked eyes- Konan's were the piercing red of the sharingan, the ninja knew he was screwed now as he had fallen under a genjutsu. In the real world Konan stood still in front of the ninja, smirking with a kunai in his hand- everyone was confused but his team as the ninja suddenly burst into flames out of nowhere and fell unconcious, this announced Konan as the winner. He returned to the stands after deactivating his sharingan and joining Ino who now had to go fight Sakura.

Ino stepped into the arena, watching as Sakura joined her and they glared at eachother in anger. Konan watched from the sideline as the proctor started the exam, Ino rushed in towards Sakura and went to punch her, anger getting the best of her as she attempted a clean knock out- she got a clean punch on Sakura who wobbled and glared at her;

Sakura; " maybe if I beat you here then Konan will see that I'm superior and rejoin our team "

Ino; " You're not going anywhere near him "

Ino got madder, her rage hitting it's peak as she slid backwards and used her Yamanaka Clan jutsu on the pink haired girl, making Sakura start plunging kunai into her own legs before switching back last second to avoid feeling the pain herself- She watched as Sakura cried out in pain and fell to the ground calling the match quickly with Ino being the winner, everyone was shocked at the brutality of it and Ino simply skipped back happily and into Konan's waiting arms, he was the only one to congratulate her since others were worried she went too far..

(many people are probably wondering why I made Ino win when it was a draw in the original anime, well because that fight was dogshit and made no sense- Sakura at the time was useless and arrogant, no strenth whatsoever, no jutsu and basically just a civilian with ok chakra control whereas Ino was trained as part of the InoShikaCho formation and could use her clan's technique so why the fuck did they decided to fist fight and knock eachother out, in an actual fight Sakura would've been used to wipe the floors)
