The Prisoner of the Leaf

Chapter 21: It's been 2 and half years Naruto

Two and a half years earlier, Naruto Uzumaki set out with his sensei to do some serious training tutored under the legendary Sannin Jiraiya. He trained tirelessly during that period to better fight Orochimaru, the snake sage and his missing friend and teammate Uchiha Sasuke; Naruto now returns to the village excited to see everyone again. Little did he know, he wasn't the only one who left, the day after he vanished from the village- his other missing teammate Sarutobi Konan also vanished leaving his love behind and only reappearing as the Konoha spirit, now he returns aswell having only recently recieved an official pardon from the lady Hokage herself.

Two years was a long time, Konan had vanished deep into the forests around Konoha after collecting a set of scrolls from Hiruzen's study- he had no one to train him at the start but soon summoned an old companion of his master's to help him become stronger; King Enma. During the two years he was away, Konan trained day after day with the monkey summon, learning formidable jutsu and better chakra control all in the hope to finally kill Danzo Shimura and help his younger brother Sasuke complete his mission.

Konan learnt to better circulate his chakra and how to use it to heal effectively learning self-regeneration as long as he could concentrate, he learnt a long list of jutsu aswell as dabbling in other elements to further expand his arsenal. King Enma taught him effeciently but still had a lot left to tell him, he was cut short as soon as Konan got his official pardon and was excited to return home, no longer a fugitive or enemy of the village.

King Enma watched as his student now got ready to leave, sighing as he only waited to tell the boy what he had still left to say-

Enma; " Boy, you've grown a lot during these two years. Hiruzen would be proud and I am too, I am sure you're ready to fight Danzo and take another step forward but if something bigger threatens the leaf I'm not sure you'll be ready- if that day ever comes then find the temple deeper into the forest than we are now and summon me again, I will teach you a greater power.. "

Konan nodded, packing his stuff as he faced enma- he bowed low and thanked the monkey for his training before releasing the summoning jutsu as the companion returned to the scroll. Holding Enma's summon in his hand, Konan looked towards the direction of the village and smiled- fully intent on returning home finally and seeing his old team..

Stood outside the gate, Naruto looked into the village he left- standing with jiraiya as they began to head in before hearing heavy footsteps behind them; Naruto quickly turned back around and saw someone approaching, he was tall and had fairly long hair, he wore a militant style jacket with the leaf symbol on it and round glasses adorning his face- Naruto didn't recognise the man from his looks but his voice, all be it much deeper, was instantly familiar to the blonde as the two had left on awkward terms but now were excited to see eachother again after so long;

Konan: " YO Naruto! "
