The Prisoner of the Leaf

Chapter 22: Danzo Shimura

Konan had just returned to the village two years after the Sasuke retrieval mission, he was now no longer deemed an enemy to the village and was walking amongst them again. He headed through the streets after having just left the Hokage's office and was with Ino, she held his arm tightly as they looked like a perfect young couple- whilst they were walking, Konan sensed someone following them and it seemed like Ino did too.

The two turned around, looking at some random civilian with brown hair that covered his face in a shadow to the point they couldn't see his eyes, they moved closer to him as he had stopped once they turned around- his arms and head hung low as he began to mutter something before yelling out randomly:

Civilian: " Ino Yamanaka you bitch! You said you were single, You said you weren't looking for love! I proposed to you first! I Loved you first ever since two years ago when I saw you crying at the gate! You bitch, you were meant to be mine, all mine! I'll kill this guy and take you by force "

Konan: " Ew dude, you're creepy- it's kinda sad really. You've tried proposing too her for two years? I've known her longer so don't come here acting all creepy like she owes you something- you look 30 something, she's 16. You really are a creep especially if you think comforting a crying girl is gonna get her to sleep with you? You're sick, disgusting really "

Ino: " Let me handle this one. "

Konan stood back, letting his feisty blonde girlfriend deal with the creep- she stepped up to him as he began rambling about her choosing him since she walked towards him. She smiled gently before socking the guy straight in the face and sending him flying, the creeps body flew through the air before he hit a fence- his body twitching and spasming and passing out on the floor with foam from his mouth.

Ino turned to Konan, scared that he'd hate her since she might have overdone it but when she spun to look at him- he had a look of shock and awe on his face but a pleasant one as he smiled at Ino and lifted her into the air by her waist.

Konan: " You've gotten so strong haha! I love it! "

She blushed, remembering why she fell in love with him as he held her up into the air- he pulled her back down as they hugged and she gently kissed his face. The two went back to her house so he could apologise to her dad for hurting her when he left- her dad was furious and rightfully so, he ended up forgiving Konan after telling him to stay in the kneeled position for an hour which he did without moving or saying a word.

Inoichi: " I know I said I'd forgive you if you stayed like that but I have a better idea, I forgive you for leaving but not for making her cry so to make up for that- take her hand in marriage! "

Ino: " Dad you idiot, you'll scare him off! Plus we're too young, you need to be atleast 18 for marriage! "

Konan: " I'll do it, we can be engaged for now and the moment we both turn 18- I'll marry you!! "

Ino blushed at his promise, thinking he was joking but the burning look in his eyes told her that he wasn't- they went up to Ino's room after and she fell asleep pretty quickly after getting changed. He pet her head, making a clone for her to sleep with so she didn't miss him before he adorned the mantle of the Konoha Spirit once more and headed to the street.

Anbu immediately rushed him once he appeared on the streets- they had been waiting for the return of the spirit after it threatened Danzo since he became paranoid that the next time it appeared would be to take his life. The anbu stood before the spirit as they tried to attack him in a group, rushing towards him as the branches that formed his pants writhed and flung out in all directions like a mass of tentacles and bat the ninja away-

He stood with a smirk behind his wooden mask as they looked at him, realising they couldn't get close- they jumped back further and began weaving hand signs before attempting to burn the forest spirit hoping to exploit a weakness they could use. They looked shocked as the spirit slid it's foot and made the earth move upwards and form a wall without the need for handsigns- blocking the flames they attempted to use and sending the wall towards them as a projectile;

Shock overtook them, they had been bested in both attempts by the spirit- thinking of it nothing more than either a costume or a being made of chakra, they thought it would be easy to take down but they were wrong and wanted to flee, attempting to turn and run so they could inform Lord Danzo. The anbu were quickly shot down as the Konoha spirit charged up a blast of lightning and sent it at them like a railgun- the three anbu were burnt to a crisp where they stood and Konan moved forward still in disguise towards danzo's base.

He snuck towards Danzo's base, the anbu hideout, as he crept in through the front door and down the stairs- taking out anbu guard after anbu guard that stood on duty. It wouldn't be a big flashy fight hopefully as he wanted to sneak in; Kill Danzo and sneak out again. He dragged the body of an anbu he knocked out before stripping the man and changing into his clothes- stuffing his unconsious body into a closet before walking out and pretending to be an Anbu guard. He activated his sharingan and began to head towards the main office where Danzo was waiting.

Konan rushed in dressed as an Anbu guard, heading into the office and panting like he had ran a far distance or fast. Danzo looked up slightly and hummed, waiting for a reponse from the anbu who burst into his room;

Konan: " Lord Danzo! The konoha spirit has returned- the others on watch have been taken out we need to get you away from here "

Danzo: " Right let's go then! "

He locked eyes with the anbu for a split second before rushing to a bookshelf and pulling a book that acted as a lever- they walked into a secret passage and began to head though a long tunnel and up stairs until they were on a long flat area that acted as an evacuation zone in case of emergency, they were behind the great heads of Konoha. Danzo snapped out the genjutsu, only having a split second to see his office and the face of Konan looking at him- no time to sacrifice an eye for Izunagi before dying on the floor.

In the split second the two locked eyes, Konan activated an assassination style genjutsu- Danzo never left the room but had his body completely imbolised and had a perfect vision of his escape before the moment he died- his head was chopped off by Konan and he didn't feel a thing; Danzo didn't even know he was dead until the split second before passing on.

Konan complete the job; cutting off Danzo's head and the arm he covered in bandage- he checked and as Orochimaru had told him years prior; the arm was indeed full of sharingan. He put the arm in a storage scroll before collecting the eyes from Danzo's head since they were Shisui's Mangekyou and would allow him to reach Eternal status. He stored both the eyes and the head of Danzo after closing the eye lids, fleeing the scene quickly after torching the room with a fireball jutsu.

Konan snuck into the hokage office- leaving a seperate scroll with just Danzo's head in on Tsunade's desk before heading back to Ino, he substituted with his clone before releasing it and layed in bed with his future fiance. He slept peacefully that night, like a murder never happened..
