Standing before the dense forest of death, the student of this years Chunin exams stood ready and waiting as each team was handed a scroll before Anko rejoined the front and addressed them all;
Anko; " Here in the forest of death you Genin will fight for your lives in order to gain the advantage, each team has either an earth or a heaven scroll and you will need both to pass- take down other teams and gain their scrolls to pass or secure alliances by having more of the same type spare. Hope no one dies but it is a possibility, there is only enough to pass half of you but since there is an uneven number, the only one man team has been given a hell scroll- if he is able to gain either type of scroll he can pass regardless of it's type and alternatively if you get his you can pass regardless of what scroll you have. You will be told to enter the forest at the same time but no attacking is permitted until you hear the horn so do whatever you need to prepare "
Konan could feels eyes on him, a one man squad with a golden ticket waving in their face as he knew it was his Grandpa's idea (the hokage), believing that he was being used to show off the village's power- he stood there smugly, hoping he was someone's target so he could show off as expected of him by the hokage. He stood with a smirk as they let everyone go in, making sure he hung back to be the last one as people entered in front of him; Anko looked confused and waited until they were alone to ask him some questions;
Anko; " why did you hang back, I would've ran in and tried hiding in your position- you're giving them all a chance to attack you once you enter "
Konan; " Exactly my point, I expect them to attack me which means the ones with no skill or sense will do exactly that securing me a scroll as they jump out for an ambush, this would also keep the strong away as they would know I'm waiting for an ambush and I'd be on my guard, there's a reason I'm permitted to be alone so they probably are wary of me and I know the Hokage plans to use me to show off, he always talked about me being his golden statue since he was proud of me and liked to boast of my power "
He smirked and headed in, he was young but that doesn't mean he hadn't matured; it was now his job to show off his might as Konoha's growing beast, he needed to show the unwavering strength of the leaf.
Konan stood in the forest, an obvious clearing where he knew there would be a chance to attack but it wouldn't allow sneak attacks since the trees were too far away from the top of his head making the area around him a zone to see any attacks that enter the open space- he awaited the horn which sounded not too late after and as expected someone rushed in. The person was fast, moving unnaturally like a snake towards him as they held a scroll in one hand and the other was an open palm with a bleeding slash across the palm- he had to dodge because this looked dangerous, his eyes span and formed a red design; his sharingan was now active.
The two struck eachother and pushed one another back, looking eachother dead on as Konan recognised the symbol of the sound village and he became wary, the ninja was alone but he's seen him or her before- their gender was ambigeous but that didn't matter as gender was not considered in a battle. Konan drew his blade, watching the ninja as they avoided his gaze; a clear indication that they knew of the sharingan's power which was a tip off to their strength and research;
Konan; " You avoid meeting my eye, is it safe to assume you know what they are?"
Ninja; " It would be a correct assssumption "
Konan looked on a bit puzzled, snake like flexibility and the way they spoke with a prolonged S seemed unnatural and strange, he slid back to prepare as he saw the Ninja do the same; both stood a far distance apart before Konan started to weave hand signs, he caught the Ninja off guard, they didn't recognise it and began to charge at him to stop him;
" Gravity style; Tiger Funeral!! "
The technique quickly dragged the ninja to the ground by sheer weight of their body as logs, branches and rocks all began to pile ontop of them and began to crush them- Konan had gotten use to the chakra flow of the move now but was suprised he could do it without a conduit or long hand signs like last time- having managed to break down the sequence using his sharingan.
Ninja; " Sssuch a sssstrange technique, you created it at ssssuch a young age, mossst impresssssive "
Konan looked smug, his fingers shifted as he began weaving another sign as the gravity of the technique began to crush the ninja- Konan looked at him, lightning jumping from his finger tips to the wood and body of the ninja ahead of him causing the logs to explode and burst into flames; he didn't kill him but he was definetly incapacitated, he never learnt what the scroll was going to be used for or the need to draw their own blood- he moved parts of the rubble to see no body there, nothing indicating someone was ever under it apart from a scroll left on the floor with a kunai.
Konan grew worried, the mysterious person had tried to use a sinister jutsu upon meeting him, had a strange way of acting and moving aswell as suddenly vanishing from under a heavy gravitational force- this was bad news but now he had a scroll, rushing to the temple in the middle of the forest to pass the exam and move on with a secured place...
