Chapter 4: Demon of the Mist

Konan woke up, the group surrounding a white rabbit that Naruto had killed with a kunai, Konan was on Kakashi's back like a young child but didn't mind as he hugged onto his sensei before suddenly being grabbed and thrown off as Kakashi ducked, a large sword spinning over their heads and hitting the tree behind them- team 7 and the bridge builder was shocked as a ninja came from the trees, a rouge indicated by the slash through his village's logo that adorned his headband. The rogue and Kakashi stared eachother down and they both seemed to know eachother as the rogue mentioned Kakashi's full name and epithet as the copy ninja, Kakashi responded by revealing the name of the Ninja he was about to face, Zabuza Momochi; Demon of the Mist.

Kakashi prepared to fight and protect his students but was shocked when one was stupid enough to run in first and attempt to attack, black hair rushed past him and began to try hit the rouge ninja who easily avoided each strike from Konan who wanted to join the fight; the child kept attempting to hit, one hand going behind his back and giving Kakashi a signal without zabuza noticing as he kept up his assault on the rogue ninja- suddenly he ducked and a fireball jutsu went flying overhead and narrowly missed, it gave a small opening for Konan to return to Kakashi's side before they both revealed and activated their sharingan. Zabuza watched as three eyes before him turned red and spiraled into three tomoe sharingan, the situation was dangerous as he didn't expect there to be another doujutsu user among the team of kids and this user seemed more skilled in it than even the copy ninja since he had two and Kakashi only one, though Zabuza didn't have enough time to speculate as he summoned a clone quickly and prepared to fight the two in a head on battle, the clone rushed Kakashi and quickly trapped him in a water prison jutsu which left Konan open to attacks from the original but this time Konan was the one dodging with ease due to the sharingan's enhanced perception, the kid weaved around the rogue's attacks with ease before landing a decisive hit against the adult's sternum and sending him back in a small amount of pain- Konan locked eyes with Zabuza for the first time and just like that, the battle had ended; the dense fog around the area vanished and Kakashi was set free from the water jutsu whilst Zabuza's body stood there, locked eyes with Konan in what seemed like a very intense staring match before the red eyed child blinked and Zabuza's body was crushed from all sides as if he was burried by rocks;

Konan; " Kurama clan Genjutsu, Konan Style number 10; Burried alive "

The child spoke firmly, watching as the rogue ninja's body hit the floor in a terrible state, his bones were crushed and he bled heavily from his mouth due to damage in his lungs- Konan lifted a kunai to confirm the kill before a senbon hit Zabuza in the neck and a boy in mask appeared next to the body and said that he was a ninja from the village, tasked with assassinating the demon of the mist: Zabuza and taking in his body for confirmation, the ninja was allowed to complete his duties and leave with the body despite Konan's protests- he had a feeling something was wrong but they'd soon figure out if it was a proper concern or not as they began back towards the village again and to the bridge builder's house. They reached the builder's house and went in to get some rest for the night, the rest of the day was uneventful as Naruto argued with a child about some dead dude and after they just simply went to sleep in the builder's house. The next day arose and Team 7 were woken up early and dragged to the forest nearby soon after having breakfast whilst the builder worked for the day, they were going to stay a bit longer before heading back after making sure nothing else happened before leaving. Team 7 were left in the forest by Kakashi who explained the premise of chakra control and how they could use it to climb a tree without their hands, Sakura and Konan completed it almost immediately after the explanation and were permitted to leave if they wanted, Sakura chose to stay and watch but Konan chsoe otherwise and quickly rushed off into the woods to train.

Konan was finally alone, looking around and making sure no villagers were in the woods hunting before he find a clearing and began to activate his sharingan- he hadn't tested his strongest ability in a while and decided now of all times would probably be best; he closed his eyes and concentrated chakra to his eyes in steady streams like he usually would to control them from going haywire- he went from one tomoe, to two tomoe, to three before his eyes took a different appearance and he had activated a dangerous ability called Mangekyo sharingan, Konan had achieved this form after awakening his sharingan, the loss of his clan's survivors during his imprisonment gave him enough grief to activate it but the side effects didn't make the ability too appealing until recently, he couldn't activate it for long as prolonged use can cause blindness and even then he can't use it for long normally as he passes out after only 5 minutes after activation but for the first time he'd get to see them and lifted a kunai to look at the pattern his eyes got;

The pattern was mosaic like the windows of a chapel, the design spinned as blood already began to drip from his eyes but he had just enough time to test atleast one of his new techniques granted by the sharingan;

Konan; " Mangekyou technique; Kokui no kemono "

From Konan's eye came a spiral of black flames that surrounded him like armour, the flames took on a cat like frame, his body was surrounded leaving only his eyes piercing from behind the flames;

He used his new form to sprint around in the cat like form, lighting whatever he jumped on or scratched, on fire in a black flame that never burned out- soon after lighting half the trees on fire, Konan passed out and all black flames vanished; he hadn't noticed that Kakashi was watching and his sensei soon scooped him up and returned him to the builder's house to get some rest.
