Chapter 10: Dead silence

Konan stayed the night at Ino's house after they snuck in through the window, she seemed more flirtaous and confident as she hugged up close to him and smirked before falling asleep. When morning arose they woke up to a deafening cry as they sat up, Konan having lost his shirt in the night as per his usual sleeping habits and Ino cuddeling onto him protectively, they opened their tired eyes and witnessed as her dad tried to understand who this wierdly tall child was in his daughter's bed.

They were all sat downstairs and after he explained everything, he was told to step outside with Ino's dad- expecting to be told that if he broke Ino's heart then he'd kill him or something but he became shocked when her dad suddenly bowed to him in gratitude;

Inoichi; " I thank you boy, I never expected someone so kind who enter my daughter's life, you have my full blessings and all "

Konan; " I appreciate it sir, a lot but I don't think I need to be thanked for sticking up for Ino and treating her kindly sir?"

Inoichi; " Oh no son you do, I had to sleep every night knowing my beautiful baby girl thought she was ugly and despite me telling her she's not, her dad saying it doesn't hold much weight so she never believed it but after she met you she couldn't stop mentioning your name, I was worried you were some delinquient since she described you as a terrorfyingly strong giant who got out of jail "

Konan; " She said all that?", he asked rubbing his neck, " Well anyway sir, don't worry as I'm no delinquent and I'm sure you've heard my full story by now- I do care a lot about your daughter "

Inoichi; " I'm glad you do, now you two should hurry, the exam starts in two hours "

Konan nodded and headed back inside, sitting with Ino who asked quickly about what they talked about which he simply responded with only a smile before finishing his meal and turning to Ino, kissing her forehead which made her blush but look up at him with a confident smile;

Konan; " I'm gonna head out now to get ready, I'll cya at the exam okay? "

Ino; " Awww I thought you'd atleast stay a little longer "

Konan; " Noooope sorry, Goodbye!~ "

Ino; " Bye~ "

She grinned and watched him rush out the door, Konan's face was glowing red as he rushed home, imagining being with Ino in the future and got home pretty quickly, explaining to Sasuke what happened last night after he walked off up until after they woke up;

Sasuke; " so what ya doing about Sakura? "

Konan; " As I told her, I'll forgive her if she apologises to me and Ino on her hands and knees but until then I guess I'm leaving team 7, I'm already doing the exam alone to make it far as by rules of the hokage "

Sasuke; " wait wait wait this is a lot, so you're leaving the team for now until Sakura apologises and not only that but you're taken the exam alone as the Hokage ordered you too? "

Konan nodded and Sasuke only sighed in agreeance, both grabbing their things before heading straight for the exam hall. They reached it soon after leaving an looked around, Sasuke walking to team 7 who looked suprised at Konan walking straight past them without a glance or a word to any of them, Kakashi knew nothing about what was going on and so Sasuke explained everything, Sakura looked more ashamed and Kakashi shook his head not knowing what to do, looking at the pink haired girl;

Kakashi; " do you feel bad for what you've done? "

Sakura; " yes sensei im sorry "

Kakashi; " Don't say that to me, you haven't done anything to me so focus that apology somewhere else "

Sakura; " I'm not going to embarress myself for them to possibly not even accept it, it's a waste of time Sensei "

Kakashi; " you see an apology for something you did wrong as a waste of time since it has a chance of not giving you your desired result? you really do need a lot of growing up to do, I guess Konan was right "

Kakashi just got them to go inside as Sakura only kept complaining and trying to defend herself, the guys ignoring her and heading inside. Konan was sat with team 10, he talked to shikamaru calmly as choji ate and Ino sat calmly in his lap with her head against his chest just listening to his heartbeat, he found it peaceful and wrapped his arms around Ino who blushed and kissed his chin in response, they had to assure the other two guys that they seriously weren't dating yet despite all the flirting and PDA, they laughed at the assumptions when mentioning them sleeping in the same bed the night before since it was innocent despite someone losing their shirt, they refused to say which one.

The exam started soon after, everyone split up slightly apart and handed sheets of paper as a military style instructor came in and started explaining, Konan stared at him- he knew the man who's face was heavily scarred, Konoha's cheif of torture and interrogations and also the warden of the underground prison. The two locked eyes and both seemed to share memories of the other's face, Konan glared but said nothing as he stayed seated and just decided to try pass, being told they were allowed to cheat but not get caught, grinning evily as he started weaving handsigns under the desk and waited for the bell to sound which began the test and soon so did that bell toll which let Konan release his jutsu.
