Title inspired by: Killer Klowns from Outer Space
[WARNING: slight body horror.]
For a being as powerful as Cocytus, as a warrior, he could say that his battle against these low-level lizardmen was utterly magnificent. Granted, Cocytus hadn't seen many battles as of recent, as the most he'd seen of combat these days was training, but as one who was graced with the knowledge and etiquette of combat upon birth, their efforts weren't anything short of brilliant.
However, he'd admit that he hadn't been expectng this big a success as one of the Shasha brothers somehow managed to sneak up on him, and for that folly, Cocytus lost two vital senses needed for battle at once; his sight and hearing.
At first, he believed that perhaps the white lizard, Crusch Lulu, it might've been, had something to do with it, but the magic caster hadn't show any abilities capable of blinding and deafening their opponents. Cocytus considered that he may have underestimated them more than he initially perceived, but then he noticed something tapping, swinging back and forth like a necklace, against his exoskeleton.
A free hand slowly raised to touch the object, only to freeze when he felt the familiar, near-metallic consistency of his exoskeleton. It was in that moment Cocytus realized why the lizardmen brother's had yet to take the chance to attack.
They may be considering the possibility that he was already dead.
If Cocytus could still speak, he would've congratulated them for being capable, but otherwise he would've been too baffled to say anything. Out of everything, Cocytus didn't expect them to cut off his head! While not an immediate death to some insectoids, it was certainly a slow one.
But this wasn't a victory, not yet. Not while Cocytus was standing. Not when he has to redeem himself for his follies.
In short, Cocytus loses his head, and in turn, gives the lizardmen a chance.
(Proceeds to knock his block off-)
