the sun had well disappeared, leaving me walking home in the cold. honestly though, i didn't mind it. it was refreshing in a way.
it helped distract me from my own feelings. i'd dug up a lot of things i try really hard to forget about. i do appreciate gus, he was a good guy and i appreciated his kind words but he really just didn't know what it was like to be me.
i sound conceited, im not anymore special than anyone else for having trauma and skeletons in the closet. i just didn't understand how he had hardly batted an eye at my life. i tick all the boxes on most guys "deal breakers" list.
i'm sure i've probably scared him away from me, but i hope we could be friends at least. i liked being around him. i hope he's not offended that i sort of physically rejected him too. it's not that i don't find him attractive, i do, i've just only ever been treated one way by men who only want me for one thing.
my train of thought was interrupted by my phone ringing.
incoming call | gus
accept decline
"hi" i picked up the call.
"oh hey, sorry i'm not trying to be like super clingy or anything i just wasn't sure how long your walk was supposed to be and i'm just worried you know, i just wanted to make sure you got home safe or whatever" he rambled
"you're really sweet gus. thank you, i'm almost home. i'm like two minutes away" i smiled, not like he could see me. i hadn't had anyone care about me in a long time.
"okay boo. just text me" he said
boo. he was cute. i sort of wished i stayed at his place longer, i was already missing him.
"i will" i promised.
"bye farrah"
"bye gus"
