farrah's pov

i woke up, alone in bed. gus' side was slept in but cold. i crawled out of bed, going to see what he was up to.

"morning kay" i yawned, walking past her to the kitchen. assuming that's where he was.

"how long have you been up for?" i asked him

"i've been on the phone all morning. sorry baby, i didn't want to wake you up, but there is good news" he told me, his face lighting up.

"what is it?" i asked, hoping to hear what i hoped he was going to say.

"i got us a place baby, i pulled some strings and we're free to start moving whenever" he said, smiling.

"are you serious?" i asked in disbelief

"im serious, it's me and you now baby. and kayla" he added.

"thank you thank you thank you thank you" i repeated, jumping into a hug and wrapping my legs around him.

"i told you, ima take care of you" he said

"i love you" i kissed him repeatedly

"i love you" he replied.

"kayla, come in the kitchen!" i called to her.

"whatttt" she groaned, but i heard her footsteps approaching

"were moving kay, gus found us a place! you'll get your own room and everything" i told her excitedly

"oh, that's great" she said, with much less enthusiasm than i expected.

i side eyed gus, giving him a look for him to step out for a second.

"kayla, what's the issue?" i asked her once we were alone. she obviously had a problem with something

"it's nice of him, but he still cheated on you, what if he does it again and now we're stuck living with him?" she asked

"kayla, you need to leave that be. we both moved on so should you. it won't happen again. i love him, and this is good for us. be thankful and stop acting like a brat" i kept my voice low, not wanting gus to hear.

"im just saying!" she said,

"be thankful okay? this is good for us" i reminded her again.

"i am" she said, "then drop the attitude" i scolded.

"i don't have one" she argued, "you certainly do. plus, the other option is us being left out to the wolves, the wolves bring chris. okay, we're both safe with gus, alright?" i reminded her.

"okay, fine" she gave in, "ill start packing up my stuff".

i left her to it, going back to find gus.

"sorry about that" i told him, "don't worry about it. i get it, she's got a lot to process right now too" he shrugged.

"thank you, for everything, for being you" i thanked him again. i didn't deserve him.

"what do we do with our furniture and stuff?" i asked him. "i called a moving truck, they'll be here later today if that's okay?"

"that's perfect hun" i told him.

"the kitchen and living room come furnished, we only have to bring stuff for the bedrooms and bathroom" he told me.

"oh that's great" i said, "i can give kayla most of my stuff then, and we'll take yours?" i asked. considering she had nothing besides clothes really.

"well, looks like we have a lot of packing on our hands" i sighed.

"i'm not leaving you here alone though, we'll finish up your stuff and then go to my place, we'll just have the truck come twice. don't worry about it" he said

"thanks gus, i appreciate it all, everything"

"we better get to work" he said, kissing the top of my head.

-

"well, it's done" i said, looking at the janky packing job. everything packed in bags, suitcases, bins, and boxes i had around.

"if it works it works" he shrugged

"the truck is gonna come pick this stuff up and drop it off at the new place while we get the rest of the stuff from mine" he explained

"kayla, why don't you go with these guys, they'll unpack this stuff and you can start setting up your room however you want. we'll meet you over there as soon as possible" i told her

"sounds good" she smiled, finally seeming excited about the whole situation, eagerly following the moving guys to the truck.

i stood with gus, looking at my empty apartment. in its own way it was symbolic of starting a new life. i felt like there was a part of me i was leaving behind. maybe it was time i started to leave diamond behind.

not entirely yet, but soon enough. i couldn't do it forever, i was happy with gus and dancing half naked for men was feeling worse and worse every single shift. gus could take care of us, he wanted to, i just had to convince myself to let him.

"are you happy?" gus asked me, "i've never been happier" i told him, hugging him again. "im glad" he told me.
