Look After You

After Breakfast Daphne, Theo, and I all walked side by side to Divination. I was both excited and nervous for the class. Beauxbatons didn't have a Divination class and from what Daphne has said the teacher seemed nuts. It could be worse though, I could be walking alone instead of giggling with my new friends.

"These stairs go on for miles." I groan as we turn to walk up another set of stairs. Theo let out a chuckle.

Malfoy who was walking just ahead of us quickly turned around. "If you're that lazy potter you could just fail all your classes or better yet work out a little and you could make it up a flight of stairs."

Malfoy was getting worse and worse. I didn't understand how he always had friends with him. "You know what Malfoy, I don't remember asking for your opinion. Daphne did you hear me ask for Malfoy's opinion?" I ask turning to her

"No, I don't believe so." Daphne smirked, letting her teeth show just lightly as she held back a giggle. "Right. So Malfoy, either you're obsessed with me, or you've got a big fat crush on me. Either way I believe you're the one that needs to adjust your lifestyle, not the other way around."

"Oh shut up," Draco scoffed rolling his eyes as he started up the stairs again. I walked just slightly faster so I could pass him up the stairs. "Make me." I challenged as I continued walking.

After three more flights of stairs we made it to a ladder. Everyone took their turn climbing up the ladder and making their way up.

We found our way to a circular table that had four chairs. Theo sat in the middle of Daphne and I the extra chair next to me. I felt comfortable with our little group. I spotted Neville the boy from the train and waved him over to us.

"Hey Neville, if you want you can sit with us." I offered gesturing to the empty seat next to me. His eyes grew, he seemed like quite a scared boy but who am I to judge. "Er, I don't know. I don't think a Gryffindor should sit with a bunch of Slytherins." He gulped, I could see his hands shaking just slightly.

"Nonsense! These houses are just made to scare people away from each other, there's no reason why you can't sit with us. Besides, the other tables appear to be growing quite full."

Neville took a second to look around. After what felt like an hour he finally sighed sitting next to me. Daphne and Theodore were already in a conversation, probably judging the fact I invited an outsider in.

Before I could listen in though, our professor walked in. She looked quite wonky. Her hair going every which way and her glasses made her eyes four times the size.

"Attention! Attention!" The room went silent. Any conversation that was taking place was quickly shushed. My peripheral vision allowed me to spot Neville jump as she spoke. "I am professor Trelawney. I will help you see into the future and prevent the past!" I let out a laugh, what was she even talking about.

Harry's friend must've thought the same thing. "Prevent the past! What nonsense!" She whispered to Harry.

I recognized the two Harry was with finally. It was his friends he always wrote about. Hermione and Ron. Obviously I could tell which was which.

Soon enough Trelawney announced we were going to be reading tea leaves today. She gave a few moments to pick out a teacup from her collection.

She told us to pick the one that "gave off the right aura" whatever that means.

I chose a pretty dark green cup. It was a color similar to Slytherins green with gold flowers scattered throughout. The inside was a master piece though, it had painted lavenders with a light brown base inside.

If there was a such thing as an aura, this teacup was definitely perfect. Daphne chose a pastel purple, Neville an ocean scene one and Theo chose one with different colored flowers all over. I chuckled at Notts, his just didn't seem to match his personality. I guess maybe I didn't really know him yet.

Trelawney came around and gave each table a cup of tea leaves and a basic white kettle.

My table each made our teas and drank until we could tell what we got. Daphne went first.

"That is so an apple." I exclaimed flipping to the page in the book. Neville agreed nodding his head. "An apple means a gain in life will soon happen, or you'll have a long life." Theodore read. "Okay, your turn Theo!" Daphne pushed his cup closer to him.

Theodore's we decided was a broom which meant changes would soon come to his life. "Okay, my tu-" before I could finish my sentence I was cut off by Trelawney screaming.

"You, my boy!" She was next to my brother. Of course she was. "You have the grim!"

I turned my book to the page about the Grim, tuning everyone and everything else out.

'The Grim is a terrible terrible bad omen. Anyone who encounters the grim shall face an untimely demise. The grim in tea readings is normally shaped as a large dog or beastly shadow. It will have pointed ears and even pointier teeth. If you see the grim you will be faced with the worst omen possible. Please, seek shelter and help immediately."

Of course Harry would see the grim. My brother always got into situations that involved death or injury. Even as a child Harry faced death head on, but now was different. For once when Harry faced death I would be with him.

In my head I promised myself this time was different. I wouldn't leave him or get distracted. I would stay by his side, stay his sister. I couldn't loose him. Not when he was my only family left.
