Strange

I practically leapt out of bed the next morning. I've heard so much about Hogsmeade from older students and my classmates and I was so excited.

It was also one of the first days I was able to wear my own clothes. I put on my favorite slightly oversized white cardigan that had star patches on the elbows. I paired it with some jeans and a black tank top and was ready to take on the world.

On a list of things that were going right my hair for once was curling. I put it half up half down and put a black bow in my hair.

For once in my school career I looked presentable. It was quite an odd feeling honestly.

As I finished putting on my shoes Daphne walked out of the bathroom "damn Potter who are you trying to impress?" She jeered as she started putting on her own shoes.

I rolled my eyes shaking my head. "Girl, I honestly wish I had someone to dress nice for." We both giggled as we walked to the classes meeting class.

I was very grateful that Sophia, my closest thing to a friend from Beauxbatons, actually had nice parents.

While school wasn't in session Sophia and her family allowed me to stay with them so they were practically my guardians. My plan was to never have to go back to the Dursleys ever again and live a happy life as far away as possible.

We met at the entrance for Hogsmeade all of the Slytherins had to give their permission slips to Professor Snape so he could keep a log and keep track of students leaving and staying.

When it was my turn, I eagerly gave him my letter. "Miss Potter is this a joke?"

I gave Professor Snape a questioning look and then shook my head in response. "

"Well unfortunately Miss Potter this isn't signed by your real legal guardian so you will not be able to go to Hogsmeade, there's always next year."

"I- Professor this is who I've been staying with for the past three years of my life. You know my situation is quite- different." I was practically begging him to let me go.

"Potter there are rules set for a reason. My answer remains a no, move along."

I was in no way one of Snape's favorite students, but he always allowed the Slytherins in the school sort of take over. I didn't understand why this was any different.

"It's not my fault my parents are dead. Can I just have one thing" I pleaded holding out the letter once more

"Potter move along. If you don't stop pestering I will have to give you detention and I have a group of first years you could definitely clean after." Snape threatened turning to the next student.

Welp, I guess this was it, I was not going to get to have the epic day I hoped. I was also extra frustrated that I wore my cute outfit for nothing.

Daphne and Theo both looked apologetic. They kept saying that they wouldn't go if I didn't want them to, but what kind of friend would I be then?

Daphne and Theodore were the best people and I wasn't going to keep them moping around with me. I knew Harry didn't get a signature either so at least we could hang and do some much needed bonding. In an odd way it would work out.

"Hey, I heard they have amazing candy, please please please bring me some back, and Theo don't eat it all before you even get back." I asked before saying goodbye to my friends and turning back towards the castle.
