The next day the staff acted as though nothing happened. There was no further talk, no communication. It was as though Sirius Black never broke in.

I supposed it was a good thing though. If the teachers weren't worried, why would I be?

I wondered if what Malfoy told me the night prior was real. If the rumor was known by the teachers. During breakfast I decided it was best to not tell Harry, I didn't need him to be stressed, he was already through so much.

At breakfast I also kept on making awkward eye contact with Malfoy. I wouldn't look at him on purpose, but his eyes never left me, it was honestly quite creepy.

The first class of the day was Transfiguration. McGonagall was a super sweet teacher, I think she partially favored me because I was a Potter, but we always shared a mutual respect.

We had almost all our core classes shared with Gryffindor today, which would make it incredibly difficult to keep any secrets from Harry.

Daphne, Theo, and I all sat at a table with Harry and his little squad on the left. "Hey Harry," I smiled acting as happy as I could.

"Hey Scar." He replied before turning back to his friends, all whispering about something.

Malfoy blew a little paper bird to our table and I reluctantly picked it up and it opened it.

Your hair looks horrible today. ~D.M.

I couldn't disagree. Unfortunately, sleeping in a sleeping bag did not help my hair and instead made it extra messy. I ran a finger through my hair trying to fix it to the best of my abilities.

McGonagall soon walked in explaining that today we would have to turn a teapot into a tortoise.

"In what world is that possible?" Theo whispered making both Daphne and I to giggle.

"Mr. Nott, please stop distracting your partners get to work. Everyone, come on." McGonagall clapped her hands together before turning to grade our homework.

Daphne, Theo, and I began repeating the spell. Daphne had almost got it around the fourth time. My seventh try resulted in my teapot transforming into a slug.

"Professor, I think I messed up, I have a slug?" McGonagall sighed and stood walking towards our table.

Malfoy bursted out laughing, "Potter actually is an idiot, how has she not gotten it yet." He mocked gaining a chuckle from Blaise and Pansy.

I turned around giving Malfoy a disgusted look, "Malfoy actually shut up for once please. I need a moment without your annoying voice."

He smirked, I knew he wanted a reaction from me, but I couldn't help it, I needed to get the last word.

"Enough, since you two can't stop bickering I will have to give you both detention, wait after class. Ten points from Slytherin."

I haven't gotten detention before, I was honestly a little nervous. Malfoy was already whining, putting the blame on me and trying to get out of it.

The rest of the class I was silent apart from when I would ask a question to Daphne or Theo about the essay that went along with the class.

After class, malfoy and I both went to McGonagall. She looked disappointed and honestly I didn't blame her.

"This year we are doing detentions a little differently, we don't want kids in the forest so after dinner you will both be helping the elves clean the kitchen. There will be no complaints, it shouldn't be long and you should be fine to get back to your dorms before curfew. Meet me at the fruit basket painting once dinner concludes."
