Christmas Day

Draco's POV

I was always fond of the holidays, Christmas was the one time every year my father actually seemed to care, he didn't, I knew that, but it was fun to pretend.

"Merry Christmas Draco." I heard my mother whisper as she walked into my room. I'm not huge on sleep, but my mother thinks all I do is sleep and that I am 'fragile' so she is no louder than a mouse when she first enters my room, even if it's 1 o'clock.

"Mum I'm awake, it's nine and Christmas." I chuckled as she sat on the foot of my bed. She handed me a box with a giant giddy smile on her face.

"Merry Christmas." She smiled as I took of the grey ribbon and green wrapping paper.

I opened the box and laughed as I pulled out new robes, it was pretty expensive and I've had my eye on it forever, but never got around to actually buying it.

"How'd you know." I smiled before jumping forward to hug my mother. "You only wrote about them in six different letters." She laughed releasing from the hug.

"I suppose my letters may get repetitive after a while, but I send one almost every day what do you expect." I laughed. Mum shook her head before getting up straight if out her dress.

"We have company coming tonight, a few kids from school I believe, your father will probably wait to give you the others gifts, you know he loves to show off." She smiled before walking out the room leaving me alone again.

Great. A party with a bunch of people where I probably enjoy talking to a quarter and only know half.

The day my father buys me a gift, not to show off but because he actually cares, will go down in history. At least mum cares I suppose.

I couldn't help but jump as I heard a tapping noise come from my window. I peered over and saw a white snowy owl.

I've never seen the bird before, definitely wasn't Blaise's or Theodore's. Definitely wasn't an owl that lived on the Manor either.

"Bloody hell?" I muttered walking over and opening the window. The owl swooped in moving its head forward to hand me the letter.

I snatched the envelope in its mouth inspecting it with great care. It was very dull, a basic brown envelope with a simple red candle stamp. The only reason you could even tell it was for me was the fact my name was written with very impressive handwriting.

The owl let out a chirp as I handed it an owl treat from mu treat container. I liked it reward all my friends owls for actually finding me, one treat and suddenly they can find my house no problem.

I opened the letter, the handwriting was just as pretty inside. My eyes darted to the sender. "Potter?" I wondered aloud my eyes moving back towards the owl then immediately turning back to the page as I read it fully.

When I was done reading I let out a sigh. Did she want me to just forgive her? Just like that?

I was literally famous for my grudges and for being mean why in Merlin's name would I just forgive her? She treated me like shit.

Kissing me and then acting as though I was to blame. At least she apologized, but I couldn't just forgive and forget.

Her owl let out another chirp "okay, okay, will you stay? I'll write back later, I need to get ready. I'm sure you've had a long trip anyway, maybe you can stay here and you can leave first thing."
