After lunch we had defense against the dark arts. Harry always wrote to me about this class, telling me it was one of his favorites. I was excited to experience it myself.

We had this class with the Gryffindors again so mostly the same people as potions this morning.

Daphne and I walked in and stood next to Theo and his friend Blaise. Blaise seemed like a fun young guy but, I knew he was in Malfoys little clique so we never really interacted.

Speaking of the devil, Malfoy walked in with Pansy hanging around his non-'injured' arm. Behind them Crabbe and Goyle acted as their personal body guards. It looked pretty pathetic.

Malfoy quickly went up and started talking to Blaise and Theo. Daphne and I watched as they talked. I knew Daphne was their friend, I honestly felt sort of bad.

I knew that part of the reason Daphne wasn't bickering with the boys like their sister was because she knew Malfoy and I were rather bitter about one another. I never asked her to choose a side, but it did feel that way.

Our Professor walked in and quickly introduced himself as Professor Lupin. He then rushed to place down his belonging and get to the front of the classroom. "Good afternoon, today will be a practical lesson so please put away your books. You'll only need yourself and your wands."

The Gryffindors and a few Slytherins eagerly walked to the front of the classroom. One thing was right, Gryffindors were definitely bold.

Malfoy's group stayed back as did Daphne and I. We wanted to stay with Theo and the back wasn't a bad spot to be. If he let any wild beasts loose, we would be the first ones out.

"Right then, please follow me."

Professor Lupin led up through a corridor that led to a rather empty room. There was a giant closet placed near the front and some randomness scattered throughout.

The closet handle randomly would start to shake and rattle as if there was something inside.

"In this closet there is a boggart. Does anyone know what a boggart is?"

Immediately Hermione's hand shot up. "A boggart sir is a shape-shifter. It will take form of whatever you fear most." Hermione was correct. It was a little funny just how much of a nerd the girl was.

"Couldn't have put it better myself, now the boggart has yet to see anyone which means it doesn't have a form yet. This creates a great advantage does anyone know why?"

This time my brother's hand was raised. These Gryffindors were turning into real know-it-all's.

Lupin nodded at Harry, "Er- because if we're all here it won't know what shape to take?"

Lupin smiled "very right Harry, let's give 10 points to Gryffindor."

I heard Malfoy groan as the points were rewarded to Gryffindor. I mean he wasn't wrong it was a little annoying but man that boy was full of jealousy.

"The charm that repels a boggart isn't difficult although it does require a but of brain power, the spell, repeat after me is Riddikulus."

"Riddikulus" the class repeated. Malfoy scoffed turning to Blaise and Theo, "this class is ridiculous," he whispered.

The boys all chuckled hitting each other in the arm.
They were quite distracting and made it difficult to pay attention.

"Right then I will need some help with this next part, how about you Neville."

Oh poor Neville. I haven't talked to the boy since Divination earlier in the week, but I knew he was a quite shy boy. This probably wasn't the greatest thing for Neville to try and do first of the class.
