Charlie was fast asleep in bed, peacefully resting into the early hours of the day. After the night he had last night, he was ready to sleep all day. He didnt care if the syndicate needed him again.

Unfortunately, he was rudely awoken by an alarm blaring in his ear.

"AGH- fuck!!" Charlie groaned, blinking awake as he shoved a hand over one of his ears and reached the other over to smack his alarm clock. His first attempt at turning it off failed, so after smacking it again, harder, he managed to shut off the alarm that interrupted his rest.

He sighed, turning over and flopping back onto his pillow. "Oughhh..." Charlie grumbled, turning to lay flat on his back as he rubbed a hand over his tired eyes. What a way to start the morning.

To be fair, though, he did set up that alarm, so he only has himself to blame for that.

A little voice wandered in from his subconscious.

Good morning charlie!

Slimecicle called, gaining a blank stare from the tired man.

"Oh.. good morning.." He grumbled, grabbing his blanket and turning over to curl up into bed again.

Oh- uh...

You know, you ususally get up after saying good morning..

"Well not this time.." Charlie mumbled. "Too tired for that.."

Charlie shut his eyes, facing the wall, curled up in his blanket. Bed was always the most comfortable after waking up, and this time he didnt want to leave.

Slimecicle remained silent for a moment.

Really?

They droned.

Charlie mumbled a simple "mhm." Gaining a tired sigh from Slime.

After that, they both went quiet. At least for a good while.

Eventually though, Slime got restless.

Chaarlliieeee....

They whined, gaining no response.

Charlie, youve been asleep all night, it's time to get up..

Charlie grumbled. "I'll get up when I want to.." He hummed.

Okay, well I wanna get up, but I've been stuck waiting for you this whole time.

Slimecicle huffed.

Charlie didnt give a response for a moment. After a second, he sighed as he opened his eyes. "Well.. you can leave whenever you want, you know."

Slimecicle went silent for a moment.

You know im not doing that charlie.

They mumbled.

"Uh huh, and why is that." Charlie asked, putting his hands behind his head as he stared up at his blurry cieling.

Wh- cause.. if I leave your brain stops working. Weve been over this.

Slime stated, a tone of confusion in his voice.

Charlie hummed. "Yeah, and yet you said that would be fixed like.. what, three weeks ago? Almost a month?" He retorted.

Slimecicle went quiet.

After a moment, he stuttered a response.

Well, yeah...

I know I said I could heal it in about a month, but... its turned out a bit harder than I thought..
