Charlie groaned, falling onto his bed as he placed a gloved hand against his head.
This was the end of his life. Nothing was ever going to be the same again. He just joined the Syndicate in a plot to murder someone, how could he come back from that?
I mean, they hadn't even told him they were going to do that! All they told him was to join them for this mission and do his job, and that was it. He specifically said he didn't want to hurt anyone!
Ok, he couldnt exactly expect that to be upheld though. I mean, to be fair, he hadn't even been the one to do it, so technically he had no part in it? But, no, he still helped stop the heros from getting to them. So, he also technically helped them get enough time to actually kill the guy.
Charlie let out a tired sob, shoving his hands against his face as he laid disheveled on his bed. He hadn't even gotten out of his vigilante outfit yet, but he just couldn't be bothered to right now.
Slimecicle hummed nervously.
I'm sure it was nothing!
I mean, if it was really that important don't you think they would have told you??
They suggested.
Charlie pulled his hands from his face, confused.
"They didn't tell me because it was fucking murder! Slime!" He exclaimed. "They only told me after the fact because I asked!" Charlie spoke with a dishevled tone.
Charlie grumbled. "This is stupid.. it's all stupid.." he spoke with a sob, turning over and curling in on himself.
He laid there on his bed for a while, trying to calm his nerves as he shook with anxiety. Never had he felt so helpless. Never in his life had he felt so lost and alone.
And it was only going to get worse after that.
The next day he did his best to act normal. I mean, no one could know, right? It's not like they'd take one glance at him and think, 'wait, I saw him on TV last night!'.
Despite that fact, charlie spent the entire day hiding his face from strangers and fearing for his life whenever someone glanced his way. If they happened to look at him for a second too long, he'd freeze and wait for them to stop.
It wasn't exactly the best. I mean, he nearly missed his stop because he was focused on hiding from all the people on the bus with him.
This really wasn't going to be a good day, was it?
. . .
The tires hissed as the bus came to a stop, charlie beginninng to awkwardly shuffle through the jumble of people onboard to get to the door.
Squeezing out of the crowd, he took a deep breath as he hopped down the steps and out the door onto the sidewalk.
Charlie sighed, glancing back at the bus as it's doors closed and it began to drive off. Watching it dissapear down the road for a moment, he sighed, closing his eyes for a second as he recomposed himself and turned around.
There was the circle k.
There was the place that he would spend the next eight hours fearing for his life.
He had almost considered calling in sick that morning, but he decided not to. He was probably just being paranoid anyways.
Taking a deep breath, he walked through the people on the sidewalk and pushed the stores door open.
A bell rang as he entered the building.
"Charlie!" Ranboos familiar voice spoke, causing him to smile hesitantly.
