Charlie shook off his arms and legs, bouncing lightly on the balls of his feet as he stared over the metal railing.
The night air was cold, a slight breeze blew through his hair and he was starting to wonder if a jacket would match the outfit.
Stepping over to the edge of the metal balcony, his red convers brushed against the floor. He was really starting to wonder if this was a good idea.
He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, the green tinted world through his goggles disappearing. He stood there for a moment, calming his nerves.
The powerless Charlie Cycle was about to become a vigilante, and he didnt even want to.
He clenched his eyes harder, bouncing lightly as he tried to hype himself up. He was going to do it. Go out, running around and doing whatever a vigilante does. Because he can, and he will.
Charlie let out a slow, confident breath, slowly opening up his eyes to look out at the street.
You ready?
Slimecicles voice questioned him, and to be fair he didn't quite know the answer.
He shook off his hands, nodding his head half heartily. "Yeah." He spoke. "I guess so."
Slimecicle huffed.
Alright, let's go then!
"Yeah!" Charlie exclaimed, jumping in excitement.
He paused.
The smile on his face slowly fading as the excitement disapeared. He stood there, staring out at the road waiting for direction.
"Where do I go?" He finally spoke up.
What do you mean?
We went over the directions five times.
Charlie hummed anxiously. "Well- yeah.. but like, I'm not going out on the street like this. That's not vigilantism that's cosplay."
Slimecicle hummed.
Ok well, do you feel like ducking through alleys? Or jumping across roofs.
There's really only two options for vigilantes.
"Neither, to be honest. Both sound equally embarrassing." He stated plainly. Truthfully he still didn't like the idea of this. He couldnt just pussy out at this point though.
Slimecicle sighed.
Ok, look. I'll get you there but you have to promise to do exactly what I say.
Charlie paused for a moment. Was he seriously just supposed to trust them? He didn't even know what they were suggesting, but he didn't feel safe.
But I mean, he's already gotten this far and only now he's questioning their trustworthiness. I think at this point he's got other things to worry about.
Slightly defeated, he sighed. "Ok? How are you gonna get me there." He asked.
Slimecicle chuckled happily to themself.
I need you to get onto the roof.
Charlie blinked "what."
Yeah!
Charlie slowly turned around to look up at the apartments rooftop.
Just climb up! we'll figure it out once we're up there.
Charlie hesitated, just staring up at the roof he felt nothing but shame. Surely it couldnt be that bad. I mean, he knew he had to do it. Or, at least moraly. He could by all means just say no and go right back into his apartment. Forget it all happened. But he's already committed, there's no turning back now.
