Smack. Another smack. He didn't react as my hands hit against his back. I screamed in his ear while he ascended the stairs to a second floor. Nothing, he gave me nothing. So I returned to the silence and only then he tightened his hold around me slightly. I could have lifted my head and looked around the mansion, but I stared at the floors. How the white tiles on the main foyer changed to a deep, dark wooden floor, which was a bit odd like how the kitchen wasn't matching with the main foyer's style. They could have been in the middle of renovating the mansion. Zero turned to the right and walked through the hallway, but not to the end of it. He opened a door to a room with the same wood flooring, but there was a fluffy black carpet on the floor.
I was plopped down on a bed. The room looked similar to Zero's room in their apartment. It was bigger but as plain as ever. A huge bed on the side wall with nightstands and simple lamps. Two doors leading to a bathroom and a dressing room if I guessed right. A large mirror opposite of the bed. Black curtains and bedsheet, nothing personal anywhere except a few small paintings of forest on the walls. This didn't seem like a room that was much used.
The back wall was simply a large window with a view to the backyard and the forest with a blue shed situated at the edge in the distance. They had a large pation, covered sitting area and a pool. I didn't give myself more time to look around as I returned to stare at Zero, who was looming over me. I waited. He was pinching his nose again, pondering something behind his dark eyes.
There was a small trace of something creamy, probably the sauce, on his cheek. Instinctively I reached my hand and wiped it away from his pretty face. I pulled my hand back, but Zero grabbed it, denying me of breaking the contact. He moved my fingers to his mouth, licking the sauce from my fingers while still staring at me. My pulse raised suddenly.
"What?" I gave in as I needed distraction back to our problems. The tension was sizzling between us.
"Why?" Zero asked back, his intense gaze on me. My fingers were still resting on his lips, so I could feel his hot breath against them.
"Why what?"
"Why do you say we aren't dating?" his voice was a bit mumbled as he was kissing my fingers, moving towards my wrist. He made me shiver with such a simple act.
"Because we aren't. We went on a date once", I huffed, shrugging my shoulders as I tried to calm my pulse while he was kissing it, probably feeling my nervousness, my fear. He didn't say anything. His lips moved forward on my arm. Slowly until he detached himself and his face was right in front of me.
"I want you to be mine", he whispered, a desperation, obsession filling his voice. "Why don't you want to claim me?"
I gulped. His words pierced through me. It was hard to breathe. He was demanding an answer from me and I couldn't deny him.
"Because I'm scared. This isn't good for me, you will break me in the end", my words were quiet, but I didn't avert my gaze and emotions flashed in Zero's eyes. His finger brushed my lips.
"I won't. Mark me as yours and I'll hold all your broken pieces together", his tone was serious. He saw me as a broken mess who I was, but also in some other way I couldn't comprehend. Like I wasn't weak.
"You promise?" I barely managed to say as his lips were on mine. Sealing his words, writing them to my soul. His lips moved to my neck, sucking my skin.
