A song to listen to: Love wins all by IU

The store had too many pretty fabrics to choose from and I didn't have any clear ideas of what I wanted to sew next. I had thought that the longer winter break would give room in my brain for my own ideas as the school projects had taken all my energy. I was indecisive, running my fingers between the fabrics. I knew which one would suit best for certain types of clothing, what kind of pretty dresses I could sew from the colourful flower pattern ones. The ideas were flowing out and I couldn't grasp any of them to concentrate on.
"I want them all", I sighed and Zero's black leather wallet slammed on the counter in front of me.
"You can buy them all with my card", he said while typing aggressively on his phone. He had given me all the space to look around in peace, not seeming bored, simply busy with the texts that kept blinking on his phone. Interrupting our evening.
"I have my own money, I can use my own card", I narrowed my eyes to him and Zero sensed it as his eyes flew to me. He pocketed his phone, turning it on silent as the notification sound went off finally.
"According to Remiel, your bank account isn't looking good, I should consider lowering your rent", he smirked at me which made me fuming.
"I don't pay rent anymore", I stated which was true. He had returned every cent of money to me and refused any transfers back as in Zero's words the morning cuddles and kisses were enough and also the fact he lived in my place during the week- "And stop snooping around my stuff."
Zero grabbed me in his arms, tipping my head up to look at him. "I'm sorry, I'll stop concentrating on my phone", his voice was a low hush, meant only for my ears. As a man whose gun dug to my stomach, he was exceptionally sweet in certain moments. The shop assistant, who stood near us but in a safe distance, had clearly gulped in fear when we entered the store, and was still nervously stimming.
Zero had two habits that made me mad. When he got glued to his phone, the aura around him got toxic. The anger spilling out everywhere to let people know to not bother him. Another was the habit of forgetting to not flash his gun tied to his hips. Though I was pretty sure he did it intentionally to get people to leave him alone.
"Get every fabric she has touched checked out and ready to be delivered", Zero suddenly commanded the poor shop assistant, whose answer was more of a shriek than any coherent words.
When we left the store, I had chosen too many metres to be delivered to my apartment and Zero had just swiped his card without hearing my refusals. Another irritating habit of his, purchasing everything I glanced at. But I like him spoiling me.
The cold winter wind was ruining the otherwise sunny day. It was rare to see a glimpse of sunlight behind the clouds when it was the second last day of the year. With the light snow on the ground everything was brighter, but the coldness got under the skin, biting it red.
We walked forward in a familiar street, Zero's hand wrapped in mine. It would have been romantic if we didn't have extra company. When we travelled in the city, by train as I wanted a proper vacation experience even though driving might have been easier, it wasn't just the two of us. "You might remember Hassan and Maya, they are coming with us", was all the notice in the train station I got. Bodyguards assigned by unknown reason as Zero brushed it off.
"Do they really have to follow us everywhere?", I whispered when we turned the corner, the breeze hitting my face. Every hair on my face was going to freeze and breathing in the cold air didn't help.
