The pencil flew on the paper as I captured the essence of her. The sketch couldn't properly show her smooth skin, how dreamy she looked in my bed. Even after showering she faintly smelled like sex, my scent imprinted on her. The deep brown hair had opened during the night. Half of her curls from braids were over her head, spilling out on the pillow and the other half hid parts of her face, falling on cheekbones. Softness and sharpness were present in her features at the same time, battling which one was more prominent. In my sketch the softness won.
I traced her thin eyebrows and full lips, bringing back the image of her. She looked like a true goddess when she came around me. How her mouth had opened, her eyebrows furrowing slightly, the brown hair wildly bouncing around her. The endless moans luring me with her piercing blue eyes. She gave herself to me. The small marks on her neck were evidence of it.
Vivienne groaned and turned to sleep on her side. Clearly her dreams didn't enjoy my disrupting touches. I cursed under my breath, dashing my sketch to the bedside table and fishing my cigarettes out. The morning sun was stalling, it knew it was too early to rise up yet. The balcony was cold under my bare feet, but the shock was good for my body. It helped to wake me up, clear my thoughts with the burning cigarette.
The feelings stirring inside of me made me think about my mother's words. Only once had she caught me smoking. Was she surprised or not, it was still a mystery to me. I had waited for her to scold me in anger but she was more melancholic at that moment.
"Addiction, obsession, it runs in our blood, inherited from my own mama. Someday I fear it might swallow you", she had warned me and picked the cigarette from my lips. The way she loved God might have been her version of addiction. That was her only true lesson for me: always make sure you know what and who you love. God was the safe choice for her, father the bad one. Neither could she be released from. She had shaken her head for Remi's flirting ways, but in the end she was more worried about me. Vivienne sleeping in my bed was a clear proof that my mother was right. Nothing compared to her. As I promised I had marked her as mine and there was no going back.
"Fuck", I breathed out with smoke. My hair was falling to my eyes as I leaned to the balcony railing. A movement in the backyard caught my eye. It was Remi and Connie walking from our shed or torture chamber, however they wanted to call it, back to the main house. Sleepy smiles on their mouths and slugging walkstyle indicated they haven't slept yet, maybe even taken a few too many drinks during the night. As they noticed me finally, right under my balcony, they both eagerly waved to me, before noticing the cigarette in my hand. It got Connie sticking his tongue out and Remi booing loudly for me. So they were drunk. I flipped a middle finger to them before extinguishing my smoke and returning inside.
Vivienne was still deeply asleep and I chose to let her rest after kissing her forehead. A gym was the next option to get rid of the leftover nervous energy as drawing millions of sketches of her didn't calm me down enough.

"I do get that their guard is up but we need to know how the power is moving", I snapped at Cris on the phone. A long boring day without solving any problems and Cris' attitude weren't the perfect mix.
"Well, as I said without Robert the whole show is not functioning. Two family branches are snuffed out so now the heads of two others are competing and I repeat, I have no idea or information who is winning. Killing Robert was nice but also we could've waited. To gather more intel about the power dynamics of the other Laurents", Cris continued nagging, my harsh words didn't bother him at all.
