In the cozy living room of their friend's house, Alice sat on the couch, tears streaming down her face as her head throbbed from the injury she had sustained.
Her friend's Aunt Betty, a kind and gentle woman, approached her with a concerned look on her face.
"Alice, dear, what happened to your head?" Aunt Betty asked gently, her hands steady as she reached for a clean cloth and some antiseptic wipes.
Alice sniffled and wiped her nose with the back of her hand, trying to gather her courage.
"I was playing on the monkey bars, and I fell," Alice lied, her voice trembling. Aunt Betty nodded understandingly and began to clean the wound on Alice's head, her touch gentle yet firm.
As she treated Alice's injury, the sound of a woman's voice grew louder outside. It was Eleanor.
"ALICE! WHERE ARE YOU?!"
The door shook with each forceful knock, and the children in the room exchanged worried glances.
Aunt Betty paused for a moment, looking at the door with concern. "It sounds like your mother is quite upset," she said to Alice, her voice calm and soothing. Alice nodded, her eyes wide with fear.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Eleanor stormed in, her face flushed with anger. "ALICE, HOW DARE YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE?!" she scolded, her voice shaking with emotion.
Aunt Betty, sensing the escalating tension, stepped in to intervene. "Eleanor, please, let's not make this worse," she said, placing a comforting hand on Eleanor's arm. "Alice is already upset about her injury. Let's focus on helping her feel better."
As Eleanor's anger flared up again, her voice rose to a scream, filling the room with a visinle sense of fear.
Aunt Betty watched in horror as Eleanor, now completely out of control, grabbed
Alice's arm and dragged her out of the house, the door slamming shut behind them.
The children in the room were left stunned, their eyes wide with shock and concern.
Aunt Betty quickly composed herself, trying to find a way to comfort them and make sure they understood what had just happened.
"Everyone, please stay here for a moment," she said, her voice steady despite the turmoil outside. "I need to make sure we're all safe and supported right now."
Meanwhile, As Eleanor dragged Alice inside, the young girl's sobs grew louder and more desperate.
The neighbors, who had been trying to help, watched in horror as Eleanor's anger reached a boiling point, and she began to hit Alice with an intensity that left everyone in the community shaken.
The sound of the blows echoed through the house, bouncing off the walls and piercing the hearts of those who cared for Alice.
Aunt Betty, unable to bear the thought of what was happening, ran to the door and pounded on it, begging Eleanor to stop.
"Eleanor, please, stop! You're hurting Alice!" she cried, her voice breaking with emotion. The neighbors joined in, their voices rising in unison as they pleaded with Eleanor to cease her violent actions.
As Eleanor pushed Alice to the ground, her actions taking on a sinister turn, the neighbors froze in horror.
The knife in her hand glinted menacingly in the sunlight, and the fear in their hearts grew exponentially.
Eleanor, her mind clouded by rage and desperation, screamed at the top of her lungs, "IF ANY OF YOU DON'T LEAVE RIGHT NOW, I'LL KILL HER! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"
The neighbors, their hearts pounding in their chests, exchanged panicked glances.
They knew they had to act quickly and carefully to ensure the safety of Alice and themselves.
