I walked Aria over to the medical building to wait for Dr. Moretti. All of the equipment is here so obviously we have to come here.
She has been getting dizzy lately and sleeping like crazy. It is good for her since she used to not sleep enough, but now she will sleep like nine hours then take two naps. Not normal naps, but basically pass out of exhaustion throughout the day.
It was definitely a good decision to call Moretti and she was actually crazy to think I would wait another day to make sure she is okay.
"He is going to have to take blood again," she reminds me as we sit in a chair waiting for him.
One of the nurses here already checked Aria in. The guards on the premises get hurt all the time so this place is always open with nurses, but Moretti is all over the place all the time. He is only ever here if I call him.
I kiss Aria's forehead, "I'll hold your hand during," I tell her, making her giggle.
When Moretti does get here, he takes her to a back room where he takes two small tubes of blood and puts us in a room to wait for him, but before he leaves, he tells us something. "I would not normally take this much, but I need to make sure if it is not the iron then I want to know what it is," he tells us.
"What do you think it is?" I ask Aria.
She shrugs, "I think it is the iron. And if it is not, maybe a stomach bug or something. Because I was feeling like nauseous the other day too." she tells me, making me nod.
Aria leans her head on my shoulder and rests her eyes as we wait for Moretti to come back.
It takes him a half hour but when the door opens, Aria's eyes do as well and she sits up straight.
"The blood tests show normal levels, however they also show something else," he says suspiciously, making us both confused.
"What do they indicate?" I ask him.
"Pregnancy," he says, looking down at his clipboard. "Four weeks to be exact." he finishes.
My jaw drops and I can see Aria has the same reaction out of the corner of my eye.
"I am not specialized in the OB-GYN field, however I have a close doctor friend who is and she monitored as well as delivered both of Alessandro and Sofia's children. You can have an appointment set up by tomorrow." he says, not giving us a chance to reply as he walks out of the room.
We say each others names at the same time, "We are going to have a baby," I say, almost not believing it. I need it to be true though. It is what we both have wanted for so long. We are lucky for it to be happening now.
"We are," she says cutely and excitedly.
I stand up, pulling her with me and holding her to me. My eyes swell with tears and I can hear her sniffle. I look down at her to see her smiling and crying.
This is hard to believe. We are having a baby. My wife is pregnant. The love of my life is pregnant with our baby.
I am so happy and proud and excited and so many other things.
I press kisses all over Aria's face until she is giggling hard, as I am mumbling "Thank you," over and over.
"I love you," she says to me, kissing my cheek.
I smile, rocking her back and forth, "I love you too," I tell her.
After minutes of hugging, kissing, and a bit more crying, I take her hand in mine and lead her out of the room. Moretti gives us the information for the doctor before we leave.
We go home, going straight to bed. She lays down first and I go next to her, near her stomach. I start pressing kisses on her stomach.
She runs her fingers through my hair and I move to lay down higher on the bed. I rest a hand under her shirt on her stomach and kiss her forehead, my arm is under her head and she is using it as a pillow.
With that arm, I pull her closer and she nuzzles her face in my neck.
"Do you want to tell anyone?" I ask her.
"Our parents," she mumbles, then turns to reach for her phone. She's typing on her phone and something makes her giggle. She shows me her phone and says, "He's probably still tired, I think he just woke up."
It is 6 in the morning right now where her dad lives and she shows me the text messages of her telling her father she is pregnant.
