I swipe my ID card, allowing me entrance into the Interpol building. My coffee almost falling when I tripped a bit over my own shoelace making me groan. I could have sworn I double knotted them because this always happens to me.

As soon as I get to the 4th floor, Flora is standing there, at least three thick files in her arms. "No please god no." I almost wanted to cry as she smiled brightly at me.

"String of jewelry store robberies, the first one was in Cinque Terre, specifically Vernazza, around a year ago, the second was in Tuscany, specifically Florence, a few months after that, and the last one here in Catania just last week, now confirmed that they are connected. Around 47 million euros worth of jewelry is thought to be stolen." She explains, slamming the three files one at a time on the table.

"Goddamn." I whisper under my breath, starting to skim through the first file. "Who else is here?" I ask her.

"Just Annachiara and I. Aurora will be here on a few minutes, and since the boys were here yesterday they're taking today off." She scoffs, rolling her eyes. "But we do already have a lead. Not much evidence behind it, and not confirmed but it would make sense." I nod and furrow my eyebrows as form of question. "The mafia."

"The mafia?" I scoff. "What evidence do we have on that?" I ask, not expecting much, and I get exactly what I was expecting.

"Actually not a lot. We don't even have a lot of information on the actual mafia. But since it is just a criminal organization, a lot of big crimes like these have been linked to them throughout the years." She explains and I nod. It doesn't really make sense. I feel like if you already know that you're wanted, why would you purposefully go out and commit a bunch of petty unnecessary crimes. Also, the mafia almost always resorts to violence and there's no sign of it in any of these robberies. They threaten with a gun but never actually shoot anyone.

I sigh "Well what information do we have?" I ask and she leads me to Aurora's office just as Aurora herself is getting there.

"Good morning!" she says, smiling bright.

"Morning yes, but good never." I reply coldly and she laughs.

"She needs the mafia debrief." Flora says and Aurora smiles. No I'm genuinely curious, what the fuck do they actually have on the mafia that is absolutely confirmed and known for sure? Because the way this is going I don't think we're doing very good.

They lead me inside the room, and Aurora immediately sits down and starts typing. One full screen pops up with a file. "Start with the famiglia. Who's the don?" I ask. (family)

Flora laughs nervously. "We actually don't know." I look at them, dumbfounded. "You think Aurora is good at tech?" she asks me and I nod quickly. She's extremely good, probably the best I've met. "You don't know good until you've dealt with the mafias tech group. They're insane and insanely talented. They automatically know when we've gotten any information from them, and they can erase is so quickly. And then after they erase it, who knows what they do but it's like we don't even notice it gone until it's gone for good."

"Yes and the signal can't even be located so we've never been able to locate where the hack is coming from. And just hacking them is a pain. Getting just maybe one small file of information from them has taken me about five to six hours before." Aurora explains. What the fuck.

"But what we can tell you.." Flora starts, her tone filled with sarcasm and disappointment, indicating that the next words that come out of her mouth will not please any of us. "are the Don's initials. Yes. Initials. Not his first full name, or the family last name. His initials. We don't have a picture of any of the family. We had one about 10 years ago but not surprisingly it got deleted."
