The first few days after I gave birth were extremely difficult, although I have an amazing husband by my side through it all that has been amazing with everything.
I did not push for long which I consider a blessing, but I think it was also because of all the things I did beforehand to prepare. I also felt very exhausted the last weeks of my pregnancy, however, I always did my stretches and my amazing kitchen staff always had the foods I needed and always helped me.
And I felt so odd the day after, I just felt empty. My stomach was so squishy too I tapped it a lot and it made me giggle but I was also sleep deprived.
Sofia has been an amazing help with everything. From helping with the pain to literally feeding me, she has been a great help.
Babies are napping right now so I am sitting in their nursery pumping milk to have ready for their feeding times. There has been so much milk coming out of me it is insane.
Matteo is downstairs making me food since it is past normal breakfast time. Neither of us have eaten but we were both with babies all morning at my six week check up.
I am feeling so good now finally, not perfect, but I feel a lot better than when I had just given birth or the day after. It was a difficult process however completely worth it. Just looking at my babies gives me so much joy.
Matteo walks in with a tray of food, placing it on the dresser that is against the wall nearest me, then walks up to me, leaning down to kiss my forehead.
"Ciao sweetheart," he says, taking the chair next to me.
I smile, "Ciao lovey," I say as I cover myself up and store the milk, putting everything in its drawer.
Matteo helps me as well. "How are you feeling?" he asks me.
"Good. I feel good." I say, smiling, wrapping my arms around his neck as he holds me.
He kisses the top of my head just as Lorenzo starts crying. The sound wakes Emilio and they are both crying and screaming.
Matteo kisses me once more before turning and picking up Lorenzo while I take Emilio.
Vittoria has met the twins already and it is the cutest thing ever. She calls them Leo and Enzo which I think are good nicknames, but she loves them so much.
So does Elena. Elena and I get along well, and she loves the twins. She was so excited to meet them and when she did it was the most adorable thing I have ever seen.
I think they are coming over today actually. Warren said they would try to make it after Elena's art class.
Anyways, Lia Emma and Rafi have not been over much since they have Lilliana. She is five months old and a very cute baby. We facetime a lot though so we do see each other often.
But right now, we change the twins diapers before holding them while we eat. Their feeding time is in about half an hour so when we are done eating, we prepare the bottles to feed them.
As we sit in our chairs, feeding the hungry babies, mamma walks in. She walks over to us, kissing my cheek, then doing the same to Matteo.
"Have you eaten?" she asks us.
"Sì, mamma, we had breakfast not long ago," Matteo answers, although the majority of his attention is on Lorenzo.
Mamma sighs, "Well, I brought you some cupcakes," she says, taking a container from her bag and placing it on a dresser. Then, starts cleaning up a bit.
I love this nursery. We made it very colorful and it is beautiful. The windows have dinosaur decals on them, their blankets are matching that.
As the babies finish, we both burp them, then just hold them. My little baby Leo has the same eyes as me and I love that. I also love that Enzo has green eyes like Matteo. I just love them, all of them. And I am so happy that I am a mother now.
We go to our room, still holding the twins. We put out their mats for tummy time and sit down on the floor with them. Mamma is still with us as well.
We all talk and watch Leo and Enzo on the mats. They're these little playing mats for babies. Enzo will pick his head up for a few seconds then put it back down again, Leo does the same but for a shorter time.
Overall, they are doing great for only being a month and a half old. They're growing and gaining weight rapidly like any normal baby and they are both doing amazing.
