Sonic sat as he watched opponents begin to rush from different directions. They seemed to believe that he was the weakest link due to his height and weak stature.
"Hmph. You guys don't mind if I go off for a little huh?" Sonic asked, wiping his nose confidently.
"Go ahead Sonic. We got this." Gohan said.
"Than- AWUGH!" Sonic said, being smacked from Basil, a fighter from the ninth universe. He was immediately sent flying as Basil gave chase.
"S-Sonic!" Gohan yelled. "Alright, everyone stay put! Sonic can handle himself."
Sonic hit the ground and a crater immediately formed. It didn't take long for Sonic to stand back up however.

"Not bad. But now." Sonic paused as Basil came in for a flying kick. Sonic easily dodged it as he then appeared behind him. "It's my turn." Sonic continued, using a homing attack against Basil sending him to the floor. Sonic stomped onto the ground, sweep kicking Basil as he gave chase, engaging with more homing attacks with an increased fury. Basil's brothers and the rest of universe seven watched as Sonic continued pounding Basil all the way to the edge of the arena.
"TAKE THIS!" Sonic screamed as he stomped on Basil mid air, sending him off of the arena, while Sonic landed safely back onto the arena. "I would say sorry, but you kinda deserved that."
The Grand Zenos looked on as the first contestant was eliminated. "Wow, that blue guy is an amazing fighter!" One of the Zenos said. "Yes, he's really fast!" The other agreed.
"Contestant Basil from the ninth universe has been eliminated." The grand minister announced.
"I'm pulling out all the stops for this one." Sonic smirked. It seemed that Basil's brothers were infuriated with Sonic, charging at him. Sonic immediately sped behind them in the blink of an eye. "You know... a frontal charge isn't usually the best idea." Sonic wagged his finger at them disappointingly. Then, Sonic kicked Lavender, leaving just the egotistical elder brother, Bergamo.
Bergamo growled. "I won't forgive you for taking down my brother like that. I'LL TAKE YOU ON MYSELF!" He said, trying to strike Sonic. Sonic then vaulted his arm. "Well, you'll have to try better than that if you wanna take me down." Sonic smirked, delivering a spike kick to Bergamo's head, rattling his brain.
"AGH!" Bergamo groaned as Sonic dropped down, launching himself at Bergamo at breakneck speeds, sending the brother flying towards Lavender, who managed to catch him before he fell. "This guy's tough.." Bergamo said, wiping the drooling blood from his mouth.
Suddenly, Sonic was hit and launched by Toppo. Sonic recovered and ended up back with his friends in the seventh universe. "Ugh.. Cheap shot." Sonic said. Suddenly, Toppo came running, but as he prepared to strike again, Goku stepped in. "Don't worry Sonic. I'll take it from here." Goku said with a smile. Sonic nodded as he got back up and sped off. Likewise, many of the seventh universe ran off to fight their own battles, leaving Gohan, Piccolo, Master Roshi, Tien, and Krillin to fend for themselves.
Ki blasts erupted all throughout the arena, forcing Sonic to dodge and weave as he attempted to find a new target. Suddenly, a robot from the third universe began to spin relentlessly, forcing many people near the edge of the arena. Sonic leapt onto the bot's head as he taunted it. "You know... I've fought bigger and badder bots than you ever will be." He smirked, before jumping off of the bot, and boosting forward at near light speed. His spines began to clash with the bot until he pushed through, shattering the arms of the robot, and kicking the rest off of the arena.

There was an immediate ki explosion as being surrounded by many opponents from different universes, but he leapt out of it with a smile on his face like it was nothing.

"Wow. If I had known it'd be this easy, I would've just went home." He laughed. Beerus was not impressed however, knowing that if Sonic's overconfidence got the better of him, he might not survive to the end of the tournament.
Suddenly, Sonic came face to face with Dyspo. "You know, you kinda look like lord Beerus." Sonic laughed. Dyspo was not amused at all. The two charged forward, with a clash commencing. "You're just full of jokes, aren't you rodent?" Dyspo said. "Oh, you got buck teeth. You a rabbit? I know a few rabbits too, except they aren't as violent as you are." Sonic smirked.
Dyspo grew angrier, and immediately sidestepped Sonic, before sweeping his legs, and kicking him away with incredible force. Sonic landed and stood up. "Ugh.. That was fair..." He groaned.
"I'm not done yet, hedgehog." Dyspo said, as he launched towards Sonic.
Sonic attempted to gather his surroundings, but was hit by Dyspo again, bringing him closer and closer to Jiren, no doubt to finish him here and now. Then, with one final hit, Sonic found himself practically flying through the air, when he was caught by a large hand.
