The two warriors engaged in a furious stare down. Goku began to sweat, not from intimidation, but from the battles he had been a part of prior. As one droplet of sweat trickled down his face, Goku calmed himself, and his nerves.
As the droplet hit the ground, Goku immediately charged up, launching a Kamehameha at Jiren, who responded with a shockwave, preventing the ki beam from hitting him. With the Kamehameha seemingly doing nothing, Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan, charging directly towards Jiren, slamming his fist directly into Jiren's face, with no damage done. Jiren didn't even flinch.
Goku continued to attack Jiren, transforming into Super Saiyan Two, again to no avail.
Goku then transformed into Super Saiyan God, attempting to attack Jiren, who caught his punch. Goku attempted a flurry of attacks, causing craters to form around the two, as Jiren blocked his punches with his finger.
Goku then stopped his attack. "What's it gonna take you get you into high gear?" He asked rhetorically. "Maybe this will do it.." The Saiyan said, beginning to transform into Super Saiyan Blue.

"HYAAA!" Goku screamed, attacking Jiren, who blocked his initial punch, but sending him flying. Goku immediately gave chase, attacking Jiren again, who continued to block. In an attempt to break his block, Goku began charging Jiren through many pieces of debris.
Goku then began a flurry of attacks that Jiren dodged easily, before countering with one of his own, that immediately connected with Goku, sending him flying. Jiren then appeared on top of the flying Saiyan, who was then stomped on by the alien-like foe. As he recoiled off of the ground, Jiren maneuvered around him, kicking him in the back of his head, sending him towards the air, before spiking him back down again.
Jiren wasn't done yet however, as he picked up Goku from his leg, slamming him against a piece of debris. In retaliation, Goku used his Kaioken technique, landing a hit on Jiren, who threw Goku, away, giving chase. However, Goku's increased reflexes allowed him to dodge the oncoming attack from his superior foe. As Goku leapt away, he charged another Kamehameha, surprising Jiren, who narrowly avoided the beam of raw energy.
Goku retreated as Jiren followed closely, using ki blasts to distract the large Pride Trooper as he jumped around, searching for an opportunity to attack. Jiren was quick to predict Goku's movements, grabbing his ankle, and hurling him towards the ground. Goku flew off of the ground as soon as his hit it though, striking Jiren in the knee, before Jiren countered with a strong right to Goku's face, sending him plummeting to the ground.
As Goku readied himself for another attack, Jiren slammed onto the ground, Goku blocking as the two engaged in a barrage of attacks. The sheer power emanating from the battle stopping all other fights as the remaining 30 or so contestants watching the fight. Goku was strong, but Jiren was fast, allowing him to push past Goku's blocks, hitting him in the gut, before slamming him onto the ground.
