I scratched the side of my face and looked away, letting out a frustrated sigh. This is was what i hated the most. How vulnerable some people were, liking the taste of simple care. Pakitaan mo ng kaunting pakialam, mahuhulog na sayo.

My face moved to the side when she slapped me. I poked my tongue on the insides of my cheek to see if it would be hurt. I winced and massaged my jaw, getting more annoyed at her.

I stood up and got my things so i could go to another table where i wouldn't get distracted while studying. When i was about to walk, i saw ciana. She even tried to avoid my eyes. She acted like she didn't see me. To late..... I already moved the chair so i could sit in front of her.

Pahiram ah...... I got her ice amerikano ice cup and put it on my cheek to minimilize the welling. Iced amerikano.'' her usual order. I already memorized her orders here at my cafe. I know she always go here.

She asked me if we could date but i said no, it was just one night stand for me.'' then she slapped me and walk out.'' end of tragic story.'' i lied.'' that wasn't how the conversation went.'' but i didn't have to go into details. She wouldn't be interested to know more about how i refused the woman and got me annoyed.

I start studying, which i suppose to do kanina pa. I just got distracted by two woman. The one who slapped my face and the one who annoyed by me. Oh i might not her on heart.

I tooked my studies more seriously when i went to law school. I starting changed my study habits to remember things better for the recitation. I started color-coding and putting pose-it notes on important pages. Giving up on my readings was never an option to me.

My phone beeped again. Arnold asked if i wanted to go in house party with them. Funny how i used to host them before by renting houses available. But now, it was so hard to convince me to go.

[Hindi ka talaga pupunta, bro?]

No, i won't attend party tonight. Im on date. I give ciana a wink, and she rolled her eyes on me which made me laugh a bit.

I massaged my temples and told him i 'be on my way before the call ended. Bumalik na lang ako sa table at kinuha ang gamit ko. I wrote a note and i stuck it on ciana's forehead before walking away, leaving a smile on my face.

When i arrived at party, i saw andy, thats her name. She was already seated on the grass, just in front of the pool side. She had a bottle of wine in her hand and look like she drank to much already. I casually sat in front of her and raised one knee. She sarcastically laughed when she looked at me and put the bottle down.

You wanted to see me?'' i asked so she would get to the point. I still need to study. She shouldn't waste my time like this.

You know, i really liked you the first time i saw you to the club. You treated me with so much care and respect... I thought you liked me, too. I expected you to call me after that night but you never did. You also ignored my texts and calls. Did you blocked my contact?'' she asked, obviously drunk.

There was nothing special about it. It was just a fuck things.

She rolled her eyes before holding my hand so she could get up too. I get the bottle in her hand para hindi na niya inumin ulit.'' if you're a commitment type  of person, go for another man that matches your energy. Don't waste your time on a man like me.

I apologized when i bumped into someone's shoulder while im on our way up. I looked at him. Oh! Bro! You here too?'' he gaved me smirk.

Lance.'' I greeted him with blank face. I wasn't a bit fascinated seeing him here. I pulled andi closer to me in defensive stance.

You know this guy?'' andi asked me when she noticed we stopped.

Yes.'' he is my classmate in law school.'' sagot ko sa kanya. Lets go!'' aya ko kay andi para umalis na kami.

I eventually came home that night and i study and just had few hours to sleep. Before i work again. That was my always routine. Babawi na lang ng tulog pag weekend. Hindi ako papasok sa trabaho. Gagawa ako ng sarili kong day off.

Good- i stopped when i saw her pale face. Her dark circles were also visibles. Like she didn't sleep. Did she even sleep?'' are you ok? I asked ciana concerned on my face. She look like she would pass out in any moment.

One ice amerikano.'' coffee? Really?''

I don't think you need coffee today.. i worriedly said.'' you know what you need?'' you need sleep.

I don't want to sleep.'' so i was right.

I was about to ask why but i stopped myself since i was not in position to ask about her privacy life. I was a very curious person. I always wondered about the reasons behind someone's actions.

She get money inside her bag but she kindly having hard time.

Pay later.'' i told her. I made her a drink who will calm her mind.

I went to her table to serve her order. But i noticed she was sleeping and making weird noises. Like how she did before. I placed the tray on other side of table. I kneeling on her side so i could hear what she was whispering.

Tama na..... Huwag..... Please......  I almost not understand it.

Ciana, hey!'' i tapped her shoulder so she would wake up. She was sensitive, so she immediately sat and she stared at me. With a shock and scared on her eyes.

Her hands were shaking, she tearing up. I knew she was scared so i put my hands up to show i wasn't touching her. But she was shaking badly. I wanted to hold her so she could be safe on my arms.

We're in the coffee shop. You're ok?...... She was confused, so i had to tell her she was out of her dream. Breathe with me..... Slowly... Slowly.... Close your eyes. Listen.... Breath in..... Hold.....''

She finally calm down.'' she held my hand.
