Can, Emre and Huma were already seated by the time Sanem, Nihat and Mevkhibe arrived. Their taxi had them in the wrong direction, making them late, but all of that and their bickering flew out the window as soon as they stepped into the fancy, high end restaurant.
Whoa... Sanem stares at the room, her mother and father behind her having the same expressions on their faces. They hadn't expected this. They thought it would be just a normal restaurant. She looks at them as they glance around curiously.
"Sanem?"
"Yes dad?"
"Are you sure this is the right address?"
"Yes dad," Sanem nods and turns back so they can continue.
"This is very fancy," Mevkhibe mutters and squints at one of the tables being served gourmet looking seafood. "What is that being put down?"
"Mrs Huma chose it," Sanem shrugs and wipes her hands down her skirt.
"It's very elegant," Nihat notes.
"Of course she did," Mevkhibe says at the same time. "Mrs Look How Rich I am." Sanem sighs inwardly. "Princess I Have A Lot Of Money."
"Welcome."
Sanem turns to the man greeting them and smiles. "Hello."
"Thank you. And congratulations on this fine establishment of yours," Nihat steps forward and shakes the man's hand. "You spared no expense with this place. Very nice."
"Dad," Sanem whispers, "this is our waiter, not the owner." She gives the waiter an apologetic smile as Nihat looks at him with wide eyes.
Can waves at her from their table and she perks up right away.
"Oh look, there they are. Come on," she urges in her parents in relief and leads the way over, with the waiter following politely, while they peeked at the other patrons eating their meals.
Can stands, Emre and Huma following suit, greeting them as they reach the table. "Hello," he smiles, taking Sanem's hand and turning her to where he wanted her to sit.
"Hello, welcome," Huma greets her when Sanem looks at her in awe. She was dressed to the nines like a 1920's siren in red with make up and expensive jewellery to match.
"Hi," Sanem manages a smile after getting over her shock and shakes Huma's hands, then moves on to Emre who gives her a wink and shakes her hand too.
"Hello," Mevkhibe shakes Huma's hand as well across the table after kissing Can's cheeks, staring at Huma's dress the same way Sanem had.
"Huma Erdimar," Huma introduces herself to Nihat and he smiles.
"Nihat Aydin."
"Please sit down," she gestures and the waiter pulls out Sanem's chair for her.
"Hey, that's my wife, I'll do that," Nihat stops smiling and chastises the waiter when he goes to do the same with Mevkhibe's chair.
Can pats the shocked waiter on the back and shakes his head. Just let it go man.
Sanem smiles, horrified by her father's caveman behavior and looks at her mother who just gives her the same look.
"Where's Leyla?" Huma asks as Nihat glares at the waiter and sits down, followed by Can, Huma and Emre.
"Leyla had other plans for the evening with her fiancé. She asked me to send her greetings," Mevkhibe smiles.
Emre eyes her as Huma hums and nods. "Oh, well, maybe next time," she says with a similar smile.
