Sanem blows hair out of her face coming back up from digging in the cabinets under the counter looking for spare keys.
"There has to be something in here somewhere. Who leaves anyone in a place they can't get out of?" she grumbles while shaking a steel pitcher upside down.
Every door and drawer was open and she didn't bother closing any of them again, walking back out and into the living area to look around there. Finding nothing, she purses her lips and walks determinedly over to the door.
"Come on," she wiggles the handle and pulls a few times, kicking against the frame for leverage. "Help!" she slaps the window again, jumping and slapping repeatedly. "Help! I'm trapped!" She huffs annoyedly. "This so boring! And unfair! Hello?! Help!"
She stops when she spots a snowmobile parked outside, just a few feet from the steps, waiting to be stolen as an escape vehicle. He even left in the key... She tilts her head. If I can get out...I can get on that thing and find civilization!
She turns, and heads back to the kitchen, already trying to form a plan. Opening a cabinet door above the fridge she pauses. "Ugh Sanem, what do you want to do, drink olive oil and break the door? Come on!" she turns back and then her eyes land on the small ax next to the shovel and pick in the corner.
Smiling deviously, she picks it up and walks, or sneaks more like - over to her adversary, which in this case the door, because it was on Can's side and decided to fight back.
She pushes the blade in between the lock and the wood and starts prying. It takes a couple of tries but the lock clicks and she grins, the cold air from outside hitting her face when she opens it.
"Fresh air...hmmmm," she hums and revels in it for a moment. "Amazing."
Running back to get her jacket, gloves, beanie and earmuffs she pulls it all on and returns.
"Let's see what you do when you see that I'm gone," she chuckles and rushes to go down to the machine, carefully stepping on the ice so she wouldn't slip.
"How does this thing even work?" she mutters as she climbs up onto the seat, swinging her right leg over and then stares at all the knobs and dials. "Great, it's a spaceship!" she scoffs and then turns the key.
It sounds a little like a lawn mower starting up, but when she turns the handles and it jumps forward a bit and she squeaks. "Like my scooter," she gulps, "just scarier...I can do this." She nods to herself and then revs the engine again twice.
It takes off down the side of the hill the cabin was built on and she giggles quietly. Yay! Sanem 1 - Can 0!
-
Can, who had just been out strolling to give them both some space and to gather more firewood, hears the snowmobile's engine starting and as he turns the corner of the cabin coming back from the forest, he sees it zooming downhill.
"Sanem!" he calls and then groans. "Jesus, Sanem, why do you have to be such a pain in my ass?" he grumbles, throwing the wood down. "Why did you have to come into my life? Why?! Where do you think you're going?!" he yells this last after her. "What's so interesting over there that you have to go full throttle?!"
Shaking his head, he sighs and starts to follow the tracks frustratedly.
-
"This isn't so bad!" Sanem looks at the vast white covering the ground ahead of her. There was a trail so it should be okay. "Not bad at all! This is actually fun!" she squeals and laughs, standing up and whooping, turning the handle to go faster. "I love this! He'll never catch me! Ha ha ha!"
