Cameras flashed and clicked away as Polen passed in front of the board set up with her face and the name of her book and then smiles as she sits down, thanking everyone.
The bookstore they rented out was filling up with guests more and more and they were just about to start.
Off to the side, Can and Sanem were standing against the counter - he was turned with his back to Polen, playing with Sanem's necklace, while Sanem glanced around the room boredly, twirling her hair.
"I'm so bored," she puffs."Hm," he nods when she turns her head to him, her nose wrinkling. "Well, we can leave soon and go do something more fun."
Sanem hums in return. She honestly couldn't wait for that.
"This whole uhm," Can stands back a little and waves a hand over her, "this outfit...these colors...it's very cute." Sanem smiles and pulls at the straps on his shirt. "And different. It's a good different though."
"I've broadened my horizons a little since starting at Exclusive."
"Hm, I see that."
-
At that moment, as the two are in their own bubble, Huma enters the bookstore and spots them. That won't do. That won't do at all...
With a raised brow, she takes out her phone from her purse and pretends to be on a call, heading past one of the reporters. "Oh, I'm sorry, but I'm at a very important event. Yes, it's for my son Can's ex girlfriend, Polen."The reporter stops fixing her hair and glances at Huma, who had stopped right next to her and then looks at her cameraman.
"Of course. I'll call you later," Huma says and starts walking again, eyeing the reporter as she passes behind her. Do with that what you will, my dear, she thinks sneakily. "Good bye honey."
"I think we can start," she hears the reporter say and smiles to herself.
-
"Hello, Miss Polen. I'm Asli."
"Oh hello," Polen smiles at the reporter coming over to shake her hand. The male reporter, who had introduced himself as Berken, was seated to Polen's right and Asli takes her seat to her left.
"Are you ready?" Asli asks Polen who looks at the microphone on her blouse and nods.
"I am."
"Okay, guys," Asli says to the crew around them, "we're good." She raises her voice and addresses the rest of the room. "Welcome every one and thank you for coming out to support the launch of this new and exciting cookbook. Now, Miss Polen," she turns to Polen, "let's start with the cover. If I'm not mistaken, Can Divit was involved with principal photography and the overall creative look? Is that true?"
Polen nods, still smiling and looks over at Can. "I feel very lucky."
"And how was it to work with him so closely, seeing that he is your ex?"
Can's leans back hearing this and looks over his shoulder at Polen and looks at them, still holding Sanem's necklace in his hand. What the hell?
"Well, we were together for a while," Polen says after seeing Can looking at her, "and we've always gotten along, so it was easy."
"You were a very popular couple if I remember correctly. Magazines and people loved seeing and reading about you. And it's nice that you can still be so close to both him and his family."
Can purses his lips and turns his head to look at the room of people looking his way while Sanem glares at both Asli and Polen.
"Thank you. Yes it is nice." Polen smiles over at Huma and Yigit. Huma pouts smilingly and whispers something to Yigit.
