"What" she replied, her voice quivering in shock.

"Don't make me say it again Reena" He pleaded.

"So this is it?" she asked, her voice barely over a whisper.

"What do you mean, isn't this what you wanted" he asked back slightly irritated.

She flinched at the sudden change in tone causing Rocky to sigh. She couldn't formulate a response though. He was right. This is what she wanted, what she begged and pleaded for. So when it was finally happening, why didn't she feel the same thrill she expected to feel?

"My driver will drop you to your house tomorrow" he said and began making his way to his door.

"Goodbye Reena" he whispered slamming his door shut.

Reena stood in the hallway all alone, marinating in her thoughts. It was finally happening. The day she never expected to come was finally here. She was free, she told herself over and over again. She took slow steps to her room collapsing onto her soft mattress. She didn't know how to feel though. She was meant to feel ecstatic, overjoyed but for some reason that isn't what she felt. All she could feel was numb. Drained from her hectic day, she slowly drifted into a deep sleep, a small part of her hoping this was all a dream.

However when she woke up the next morning she realised it wasn't. All her books and clothes were all packed in boxes for her, being loaded into the car. Reena was finally going to get a taste of real freedom. To be able to live for her own purpose and not worry about others. She was going to be truly independent. That though sent jolts of energy through her.

Yet amidst all the chaos her eyes searched for his. To catch one last glimpse of him before she goes. She stood by the entrance, her feet tapping against the hardwood floors.

"That's everything mam" the guard said and she timidly nodded her head.

"Wait have you seen Rocky anywhere?" she asked, her voice laced with desperation.

However the guard just shook his head and continued with his day. She sighed sadly, biting her lip she decided to peak by his room to see if he was there or not. She got to his door and lightly knocked, but she was met with silence.

"Rocky" she whispered from outside the door but nothing.

The clock was ticking and she needed to make her way home. Half heartedly she made her way back down and into the car. The car started and she saw the crowd of people beginning to slowly form at the entrance to wish her goodbye. She knew she would miss all of these people very much.

Her eyes scanned the crowd, hoping to see Rocky but he was no where to be found. Deep down inside, she begged that he would stop her, and she would stay and live the rest of her life by his side. They drove out the golden gates and for the first time she was sad to leave. The feeling was bittersweet. But she knew the future waiting for her would be just as bittersweet as this. The drive to the mansion was eerily quiet and the silence became nauseating. Reena was deep in her thoughts, a mixture of excitement and anxiety pumping through her body.

They finally pulled up to the same building she spent her childhood captivated in. She hadn't been here in over 8 months. She stepped out the car and every step she took was filled with an unknown certainty. That if she stepped inside, there was no going back. No returning to the life she had lived in KGF. That would all fade away into a distant dream.

She was welcomed with a cool breeze as she entered her house. Not much had changed since she was last here. Her first stop was her room. Her white ivory bedroom was spotless, not a piece of furniture out of place. Reena plopped onto her bed, the familiar comfort of her own home soothing her heart.
