Rocky was sitting in his office rotting away. The burden of his work was pilling on to him and he found himself lacking sleep. He rubbed his tired eyes as he continued to read his documents. As he was slaving away at his desk, a gentle knock brought him out of his rhythm. He walked over to the door, sulking with each step. His muscles felt tired and sore due to sitting in his chair for so long.

Rocky opened the door and was met with a young man wearing a nice suite, shades sitting on his face. The man gave Rocky a small smile before taking off his sunglasses.

"Hello sir" the man said and Rocky nodded.

"I'm Ashwin, its very nice to finally meet you in person" the man said and Rocky stared at him confused.

"Who are you, may i ask?" Rocky said bluntly and the man chuckled apologising.

"How silly of me. My fiancée is an old friend of yours. I'm here to drop off our wedding invitation as she was busy with some work so she couldn't come in person" Ashwin said and Rocky let him in. The man handed Rocky the invitation.

"I'm so sorry. But could you remind me who your fiancée is?" Rocky asked.

"Yes, her name is Reena Desai. She said that you were a colleague of her father and a friend. She was persistent on giving you an invite to our wedding" Ashwin said and Rocky froze in his seat.

Its true that he hadn't heard or seen Reena in years but he never expected her to move on. I mean she was getting married to someone else. And she had the nerve to invite him, despite there past.

"Your fiancée is Reena?" Rocky asked and he nodded.

"The name rings a bell doesn't it. She talks about you all the time. And i can see why, you have an amazing life Mr Bhairya" he said and Rocky sadly nodded.

He knew the possibilities of him and Reena ever being together again were slim but he couldn't help but feel betrayed.

"I'm sorry but i don't think i can make it" Rocky whispered staring at the floor beneath him.

"I understand sir but Reena will kill me if you don't come. So please for my sake try to attend" the man pleaded and Rocky felt his thin shred of patience being cut.

"If i said i cant make it, then i cant come" Rocky said this time a little more aggressive and the man was taken aback.

"Sir please at least come to the reception" the man tried to say and that was Rocky's tipping point.

He lunged towards the man, grabbing his neck and lifted him above the ground. Ashwin struggled and pleaded for air but it was no use. Eventually his body became limb and Rocky let go. His body began falling until.

BAM.

Rocky jerked up, wiping the thick layer of sweat from his forehead. He gazed out at the sun that had just began peeking out the horizon. It was just a dream.

Even though he was only gone for a month, his dreams were a form of his never ending torture. He couldn't escape the visions and reminders of her. As much as he wanted or needed to move on with his life, he couldn't.

As of now he had no plans to go back to India so it was best to just forget her and move on with his life. He got out of bed, stretching his sore muscles. He did his morning routine and got ready for another day of meeting, deals and the never ending list of work he had to do.

The morning traffic and the honking of cars was a quiet distraction for Rocky as he read through his documents. He hadn't heard anything about her ,besides her request for the project, since he left and he wanted to keep it that way. He had a promise to fulfil and he didn't need anyone steering him away from his path.

He had big dreams and aspirations he wished to achieve. He wanted his business to spread all across the world. He wanted everybody to know the name Rocky. He wanted every person who walked this earth to know how feared he was and how powerful he was.

And he wouldn't go back until he got just that. He continued his day, stuck in his office as the hours were slow to pass. He was ready to get used to this, because the results would pay off for his hard work.

On the other hand Reena was bubbling with excitement. She was finally meeting new investors for her project. She could finally see her dream coming to life. The day was quick to pass, she had met with many different people from many different backgrounds. However all of them were investing for the wrong reasons.

They all wanted money but Reena wanted people who were passionate about the cause of her project. She wanted to help the unfortunate people of KGF get a better life. And that starts with education and healthcare, thus the reason Reena wanted to build a school and a hospital.

She quickly grew tired of the same rehearsed speech by all her investors talking about ways they could launder more money from the project. She couldn't believe how selfish some of these people were. That they were even willing to cheat these poor innocent people just for some money. The last investor of the day walked in and greeted Reena before taking a seat on the couch opposite her.

"Good evening madam. My name is Ashwin its very nice to finally meet you" he said shaking her hand.

"Oh please call me Reena" she replied back.

"I've heard a lot about you and all your plans. I'm very interested in helping you with your work" he said and Reena nodded understandingly.

"Why are you interested? What intrigues you about this particular project?" she asked curiously and he smiled.

"Well i come from a very low income family. I had to work very hard to get to the position i am in today, so i understand the struggles of the people in KGF. So id love to help build these schools and hospitals for them" he said and Reena genuinely smiled.

He was the first person today who was honest about why he wanted to help her. He really did want to help the people of KGF better their lives.

"Well that's fantastic. Id love to have you investing in the project" she said and he smiled.

"If that's all then i must get going" he said and she nodded guiding him out.

"Wait Reena" she nodded.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me for coffee some time" he nervously asked and she furrowed her brows.

"Well to discuss the project, that all" he quickly corrected himself and she timidly nodded.

She was finally getting closer to her dream life. She had heard that Rocky confirmed, allowing her to work in KGF. She still didn't know where he was but she knew he would be ok. She touched the thread on her neck and softly smiled.

She knew that soon enough Rocky would just become a fragment of her past. But the idea didn't disturb her like it used to. It gave her a sense of peace and reassurance because she knew that they both had big things to focus on in there respective lives. She had no way of confirming what the future had in hold for her. But whatever it is she would face it with her head high and with no regrets.
