Affinity Energy

Jayden was surprised at the sudden turn of events, the masked man had vanished into thin air like a fanthom. It was almost as if he was never there and everything was just his imagination.

The lucky students stood up and were able to walk around, several floating bots came out of the spaceship and picked up the passed out students and the unlucky ones. They were taken back into the spaceship, to be taken back to Planet Grenkar.

As soon as the last bot entered the spaceship and the lift closed, the students felt the gravity reduce slightly, the blue haired teacher tapped the space beside him and a machine on a tripod stand revealed itself, it used a camouflage mechanism that made it invisible. But that wasn't the students concern at that moment, what bothered them was the machine.

The Gravity Insulator. It was a machine whose purpose was to increase the gravity in the surrounding area by sucking in the gravity waves around it and forcing it into the specified area.

The students not happy about the sudden realization, began to mumble, because they would have been able to resist the force they now felt and won't have needed to waste their limited energy, activating their skills.

Jayden who didn't need to constantly change his Energy Orb when he ran out of energy, didn't face that challenge. His energy replenished over time, but the students were forced to use their energy, which pissed them off, they were unhappy with the way the teachers tested them and began to deactivate their Mech Suits one after the other. They knew that it was for a reason, but until they knew why the teachers had done what they did, they would hold their grudge.

Jayden followed suit and deactivated his Mech Suit.

"Now that that is done, up to the next step." The blue haired teacher said and began to lead them in another direction towards the endless expanse before them. Jayden didn't know where they were being led to, but he followed obediently.

They walked for hours before they arrived at... Nowhere.

"We're here!!" A teacher said and pointed at his front. The students were staring at him with faces that said 'where exactly?'. Some teachers also looked at him, waiting for an explanation, The teacher called Mr Vane Keys, was Red Haired –a sign that he was from the Fire Crackers House– and was of average height, his left eye was a robotic blue, while his right eye was a glowing red, he had two silver rings on his nose that reflected the sun in the sky and he always had this smile on his face that gives you the creeps.

Mr Vane Keys was a teacher of the Fire Crackers House and was known to be very violent with everyone, including his students.

"What are you all fucking looking at me for?!! Of course this is were you're going to be fucking staying during your stay on this goddamn planet. So get your lazy, ugly asses moving." He ended his cursed speech and walked ahead. Before they could react, they saw the space around him shift and turn, before teacher Vane disappeared.

"How did he even become a teacher?" Jayden said perplexed at the way he just spoke.

Jayden, unlike the other students, had infused energy into his eyes since the beginning of the walk, and was able to see the wall of energy ahead of them before they got there.

Jayden felt drawn to the wall of energy and felt like touching it, it was an unexplainable feeling that suddenly over took him and clouded his senses, he felt himself walking towards it before he stopped and stood there without moving.

His body was bathed in the energy, it washed over him, filling his body with energy, his used up energy was immediately replenished, the tiny fatigue that had accumulated in his body was washed away immediately and his mental strength felt like it had been filled to it's peak. But his surprises didn't end there, something unexpected happened.

[ALERT!!!]

[RAW SOURCE OF ILLUSION ENERGY HAS BEEN FOUND]

[ABSORPTION WILL NOW COMMENCE]

Jayden stared at the words, not able to process what was happening.

'Nahshon, what's going on?'

[A raw source of Illusion Energy has been found]

'What is Illusion Energy?'

[Let me explain from the beginning to not leave any questions later]

[There is something called Affinity Energy, it is the Energy used to power up our Affinity and let's us control it and use it efficiently]

[Affinity Energy is very rare and can not be found easily, it is more potent when used with the Affinity directly than when another energy source is used instead]

[An example will be using Energy from the Creation Orb to use your Illusion Affinity, it would not be as strong as when you use Illusion Energy to cast your Illusion related skills]

[This barrier is made from raw Illusion Energy, to hide the settlement beyond it]

'And you're absorbing it. Isn't that dangerous?!!' Jayden panicked. And as if responding to his thoughts, the barrier started to flicker.

Jayden ran and met up with the other students before the barrier shook violently and the sound of glass shattering reached the ears of the students ahead of him.

Everyone, including Jayden, turned around. They didn't see anything, but Jayden knew what happened.

[ABSORPTION COMPLETE]

He had sucked in every little bit of energy from the barrier, and now, it was no more. Destroyed completely.

The teachers shrugged their shoulders and the students returned to gawking at the sight before them. The students were stunned at the sight that appeared ahead of them when they crossed the barrier, so they stood on the spot, taking everything in, this had given Jayden enough time to complete the Absorption of the raw Illusion Energy.

Jayden calmed himself at the close call, he didn't know what could have happened if he stood there when the barrier broke, he sighed in relief and finally had the chance to look at his front.

"Wooooow!!!" Jayden exclaimed.
