Everything hurt.
After me and the demon fell down the hole, we both blacked out. But I was the first to wake up. I weakly groaned as I put my hand on my head and stood up. "Ouch, my head," I groaned. Not even 5 seconds after I said that, he woke up as well.
"I think we can agree that we're not gonna be fighting for a while," he sighed. I helped him up and it was clear that he was right. "You're right..." I agreed. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Agreeing with a demon.
He glanced at me. "Don't you have a communicator of some sorts?" He asked. "I do..." I answered, but while looking at it I could easily see that it broke in either the fight or the fall. It was probably the fight considering I went through a bunch of trees.
"Make that did." I groaned. He groaned as well. "Can't you glide out of here? It's probably the next best thing to do. For you anyways." He asked. "For one, I'm a hero and I'm not leaving you like this," I started and he rolled his Ruby red eyes.
"For two, every single bone of my body hurts," I added gesturing to all of me. "For three, the entrance is blocked up." I stated. "That's just great... I'm stuck in here with you." He hissed. We were quiet for a few moments, before I asked a question.
"So... I imagined the crying?" I asked. "What?" He asked. "When I walked out of our base, I heard crying." I said. "Yeah, you imagined it." He said quickly as he turned the other direction facing away from me.
"Yeah, but when I talked you were a coward and curled in a ball." I said. "First of all, IM NOT A COWARD!" He snarled. I grinned smugly. "Second, you just...spooked me. That's all. I was relying on hedgehog instincts." He crossed his arms.
We were both quiet for five seconds. "Hey, I have a question. Just curious. Pure curiosity." I said. "Yeah?" He asked. "Do you demons have names?" I questioned. "Actually, do you heroes? I've always wondered the same. Yes we have names." He revealed, uncrossing his arms.
"We have names too. Mine's Knuckles." I said, holding out a hand for a handshake. He examined me for a minute or two. "Hehe, weird name. I'm Sonic." revealed Sonic, taking my hand and chuckling in amusement.
"Weird name?! Excuse me, it fits really well." I accused. Sonic laughed. "To be fair, though," he started when his laughter died down. "My real name is weird too. It's Ogilvie. Call me it though and that broken back of yours won't be the only thing breaking!" He threatened.
"Okay, okay," I laughed. He knows I was lying, and that I'd call him Ogilvie sooner or later. "Aren't you named after that weird hair product?" I asked. "Don't. Just don't." sighed Sonic as I chuckled out of amusement.
Sonic crossed his arms. "First things first, find a way out of this cave. I don't wanna be here and I'm certain you don't wanna be here either. My legs feel like spaghetti and you...are in no condition to climb or glide."
I nodded in agreement. "So, what are we going to do?" I asked. "I guess... we'll have to..." he started, looking up at me. I realized what he's saying. "Work...together." I finished along with him in unison reluctantly.
