Chapter 2

Daemon's arrival to Kings Landing goes well. Rhaenyra is onto her uncle's plans. I hope you guys like it 🥰

Daemon had not expected Rhaenyra, his niece was not the little girl he had left a few years before when he had left for the war. His little niece had grown, not in stature because she was still as tiny as ever, but gods, her curves were enough to tempt a saint. Her hair was longer and her face was a bit fuller, he had been struck speechless when he had first seen her. He was sure he had looked like a fool but had not been able to help himself. What he had not expected was to see Rhaenyra so familiar with Aegon, the little boy seemed to adore Rhaenyra and enjoyed his time with her. Daemon had been sure that his niece felt the same animosity for Viserys's spawns as he did, but apparently, he had been wrong. The way she had spoken to him was not something he was used to. Rhaenyra had always adored him and he had been her favorite person, she had cried any time he left. The fact that she had told him to leave if he did not change his attitude had almost made him fall on his ass.

"I am happy you have returned." Viserys was a bit into his cups already. "I have missed you this past few years."

Daemon had to bite his tongue not to tell his brother what he truly thought of him. Viserys had been the one who sent him away over and over again. When Daemon asked for his help while he was at war, his brother had denied him and left him all alone. Daemon knew his brother was weak and he also owed him a debt, Daemon had no intention of leaving without Viserys paying for what he had done.

"Yes, I have missed home." He took a sip of his wine before gesturing to where Rhaenyra was chasing Aegon, while Alicent stood a few feet away glaring at her. "I did not know my niece was so fond of the boy."

"Neither did I," Viserys answered with a shrug. "A fortnight ago she barely even looked at him, but now she spends a lot of time caring for Aegon, Helaena, and Aemond. She is very fond of all three of them and makes sure they are happy and well cared for."

"Hmmm," He looked at his niece again, he wanted to know what had happened to make her change her mind. Rhaenyra was not fickle with her affections and he found it very strange that she had become so engrossed with her siblings all of a sudden. "Well, it is good she is spending time with them."

While he would prefer she did not, he was not going to say that to his brother. Viserys was a blind fool, who did not see the snakes he had surrounded himself with, especially the one he shared his bed with.

Daemon had noticed all the glares Alicent had been sending his niece and he was not happy that his brother just allowed it to happen without saying anything about it. He knew that his niece would be the perfect person to help him with his revenge against Viserys. His brother would have no choice but to annul his marriage and allow him to do what he wished, or face a large scandal.

The longer he looked at Rhaenyra the worse he felt about what he was planning to do, but he knew it was necessary. His brother had pushed him aside for long enough and he was tired of it. It was time Viserys realized he was a dangerous opponent and his brother, Daemon would make him understand it one way or another.

Rhaenyra nodded at Cole before entering her chambers and closing the door. She barely talked to the man anymore, what she had seen in her dreams about him had been very disturbing. The only reason she had not done anything against him was because she did not want to push him into Alicent's arms sooner than she had to. She would find a way to get rid of him permanently, she would not give him a chance to hurt her or the people she loved.
