I won't be able to post until Friday.

We get a little look into Mansy's fears and what she is thinking. I hope you guys like it 🥰

Brise had been surprised when Princess Rhaenyra had arrived at the shelter with her uncle days before. The princess had told her what had happened and that she would be getting her name back and be recognized as a daughter of House Tully once more. The princess had also told her that her uncle would be providing gold for her and her daughter's keep, who would also be known as Mansy Tully. Brise had been too shocked to speak, also because of the presence of her uncle, a man she had not seen in seven and ten years. Her uncle had looked apologetic and told her how sorry he was for what had happened. The apology had not counted for much, he still had allowed a great injustice, which had caused her a lot of pain and she could not forgive him so easily. The princess had told her she could return to Riverrun with her uncle or she could stay in the city, she would be given chambers in the Red Keep unless she preferred to stay at the house her family had in the city.

Brise had immediately decided to stay in Kings Landing, she did not want to see her grandsire and she would not be so far away from her daughter. The princess had been relieved when Brise asked to stay and asked to be allowed to continue running the shelter. Brise loved what the princess had built, it had saved her and her daughter's lives, and she enjoyed helping others. Rhaenyra had readily agreed and that was how Brise found herself living in the Red Keep close to her daughter and being treated as a noble lady once more.

"Mama," Her daughter walked into her chambers giving her a smile and sitting next to her while the maids served their supper. "Sorry, I am late. I was with Princess Helaena and we lost track of time."

"Do not worry, I do not mind. I am happy that you two have become friends." Brise did not say anything, waiting until the maids had left before giving her daughter a questioning look. "What is happening between you and Prince Aegon?"

"What?" Her daughter gave her a wide-eyed look. "What makes you think there is anything going on?"

"Because people talk, highborns love gossip more than peasants do." She had also seen them together and could see there was something between them. "I also heard what happened between Prince Aegon and that lord. The way he went unhinged and defended you."

"There is nothing between us." Brise did not say anything, just continued to stare at her daughter until the girl sighed. "He says he wants to court me."

Brise knew what it meant to be courted by a prince and most women would kill for their daughters to marry into the Targaryen family and become a princess, but Brise was not like most women. She had seen how evil men could be and she wanted her daughter to be happy, even if that meant marrying someone of lower status. She wanted a man who treated her daughter well, no matter his rank.

She took a small sip of her wine. "What do you want?"

"I am not sure." Brise could see her daughter was conflicted, but she was not sure why. "Prince Aegon has treated me very well, and he is very sweet. What if is just all a lie? What if he becomes different after we are married?"

It took Brise a few moments to realize what her daughter's fears were. Mansy was afraid Aegon would be like her father, that he would be violent and hurt her. "I have been told he is the gentlest of all the prince and princess's children, except for Helaena."

"Yes, but you heard what he did to that man. That was a side of him that I had never seen, something I did not even think he was capable of and it scared me."
