Chapter 15

More moments between Rhaenyra, Daemon and the children. Rhaenyra makes a request during the small council meeting. I hope you guys like it 🥰

1 week later.

"There you go, sweetheart," Rhaenyra said as she finished braiding the small pink flowers into Helaena's hair. "You look beautiful."

Helaena turned to her with a smile, which Rhaenyra loved. She adored any time any of her siblings smiled at her or Daemon, but with Helaena it was different. The little girl had rarely smiled before, now her smiles came easier and more ready.

Her sister opened her arms to be hugged. "Thank you."

Rhaenyra hugged her and kissed the top of her head, enjoying her sweet scent. Aemond and Aegon were sitting on either side of her, eating their food quietly while watching her and Helaena.

"Now," She looked at all three of her siblings. "What are the plans for today?"

"I have to train with Daemon." Aegon was always excited to spar. "He is allowing Ser Erryk to join us today. He says I am ready to spar with someone who is alive and since he has to study my moves it can't be him."

"Well, I am very happy you are finally going to spar with someone who is alive. Congratulations." Her little brother was very excited about his accomplishment and she made sure to give him the proper reaction. She then looked at Helaena."What about you?"

Her little sister shrugged. "I want to go to the gardens, I will try to find caterpillars."

"Well, then I wish you the best of luck. I will make sure the maids know to take you to the gardens." Helaena smiled and nodded.

Rhaenyra turned to look at Aemond who smiled, not caring about the berry juice running down his face. "Dwagon!"

"I am sorry my love." She kissed his chubby cheeks. "I have to attend the small council meeting and I can't take you flying this day."

Her little brother pouted but did not scream or cry. He knew she would take him flying if she could. She took one of the cleaning clothes and started cleaning his face. "I am sorry, my love. I will take you flying as soon I have a chance, I promise."

Aemond nodded before shoving another berry into his mouth, not caring at all that she had just cleaned his face. The doors opened and Daemon walked in making all the children cheer and run to him. Rhaenyra had to throw herself forward when Aemond almost fell in his haste to get down his chair. She was able to grab him at the last moment, chuckling before allowing him to run to Daemon. He had gotten much better and was more steady on his feet, now he did not just walk he spent most of his time running around, exhausting Rhaenyra and the poor maids.

Daemon paid attention to all three children, kissing their heads and listening to what they had to say. She knew he would be a great father, much better than her own was.

Daemon kneeled in front of the three children. "What are your plans for the day?"

Aegon was the first one to jump up. "We are training today."

Daemon smiled. "That is true."

Helaena was next, taking hold of one of Daemon's hands and giving him a sweet smile. "I will be getting caterpillars in the gardens."

Daemon cupped the girl's face. "Well, I will make sure to come back later so you can show them to me." Helaena nodded excitedly and Daemon turned to Aemond. "What about you?"
