STANDING ALONE OUTSIDE, Kobayashi Aotori watched as Shiratorizawa's bus drove away. His deadpan eyes followed his teammates waving back at him.

So everyone abandoned me without even a hint of hesitation...?

It seems I really am just a dispensable background character... Kobayashi Aotori showed no emotion, but inwardly, he shed tears of noodles.

Before leaving, the advisor had repeatedly urged him to be careful. If it weren't for Kobayashi Aotori's parents having a house in Tokyo, the advisor might have rented a place for him.

—INSIDE THE BUS, the advisor glanced at Coach Washijo, who sat with arms crossed and eyes closed, looking puzzled. He couldn't understand why the coach made such a decision.

If it was just for gathering information, there was no need to leave Kobayashi Aotori, the ace player, in Tokyo, right? Wouldn't this disrupt the team's training?

Although it was obvious that Kobayashi Aotori wouldn't be expelled for wandering around during the Tokyo training camp, most team members would likely look forward to his presence. After all, he was indispensable in Shiratorizawa's Interhigh victory, just like Ushijima Wakatoshi.

Just interacting with someone like him could be highly beneficial.

So, the advisor couldn't understand Coach Washijo's decision even more.

Perhaps sensing the advisor's intense gaze, Coach Washijo slowly opened his eyes. The advisor quickly averted his eyes but couldn't escape Coach Washijo's notice.

Seeing the advisor forcefully looking straight ahead, suppressing his confusion, Coach Washijo raised an eyebrow, his stern expression unchanged, and then chuckled:

"Are you wondering why I left Kobayashi Aotori alone in Tokyo?"

Having his thoughts exposed, the advisor teacher no longer concealed them and turned his head sincerely, "I don't quite understand your reasoning."

Coach Washijo, as if expecting this reaction, crossed his arms and looked at the smooth road ahead. The team members behind him, who appeared to be resting, were actually all ears—

Because they were curious too!

ESPECIALLY YAMAGATA HAYATO, who was both relieved and troubled by the prospect of not training with Kobayashi Aotori for most of the summer.

He was relieved not to face those unpredictable serves all day. While Ushijima's serves were equally challenging, they were at least straightforward and lacked the unpredictability of the former.

Kobayashi's serves, however, were different. He had the ability to receive each one, but the high-intensity observation and calculation drained his brain cells, and having the ability didn't mean he could actually do it.
