THE HAUNTED HEART : FULL MOON

Chapter 4

The door was shut close. Kai's friends was banging and kicking on the door, hoping that it will open.

"Jett, find something to get this f*ckin' door open!"

" On it!"

Meanwhile Kai inside was trembling and couldn't move, he was frozen. The man in cloak hiding his face that couldn't be seen, blocked the light of the moon coming from the window as he slowly walked towards Kai.

Kai felt every step he made, every time he heard the footstep of the man, it was like Kai was slowly drowning in the depth of the ocean, going deeper and deeper and deeper until he can no longer breath.

Kai became more anxious, leaving no space for thinking and calming himself... His mind was blank, he didn't know what to do in there with all the confusion, fear, anxiety, the noise, the smell, the things that made him queasy. He was feeling it once again, all the emotions building up inside of him.

As the man was finally infront of him, tears ran down his cheeks, and it just kept on coming, Kai thought that he would die there, along with all his friends, his last thought was that all of this... was his fault....

He was shocked when he felt something touched his chest, the man who barely touched it revealed his face and removed the hood of the cloak.

"Who.... are you?"

Kai was shocked when he saw the man's face and talked. He didn't realized that everything he felt just a minute ago faded away in an instant as he saw this man's face.

He had a pale skin, a dark long hair all the way to his waist, his eyes were almost covered by his own hair...but it can be seen from up close..the eyes of the man..his caribbean blue eyes. Once you stare at it, it feels like you'll be sucked in.

It wasn't that noticeable, but even with his dark  circles under his eyes, he appears to be attractive. A sharp jawline, long nose, and he was also tall. Kai was too stunned to speak.

"Kai! Are you okay?! Please talk to us!"

Kai was surprised when he heard Austin's worried voice outside, he didn't know they were still out there.

"Everyone... I'm...okay"

Kai replied with a persuasive tone while still fixated on the man's face. Austin and Wilder was relieved that Kai was still alive, though they were still anxious because something might've already happened to him.

"I found a crowbar! Though it's too rusty"

Jett, who rushed towards Wilder and Austin was holding an old rusty crowbar in the middle of nowhere, it was the most useful thing they could find in such a creepy place.

"That'll do, now, step back!"

Wilder was about to tear apart the door even if it would take long. They were a bit confused why it was still so sturdy after all those kicking and punching, even if the church was so old.

Kai glanced at the door that was shaking and had a cracking sound. However, the man in front of him leaned towards him. Kai was alarmed when he suddenly whispered through his ears.

"Get me... out of here...., or I will have no choice.."

"But to kill those hooligans out there"

He spoke in a low, deep voice. He was threatening Kai. He was sure that this  man was dangerous. It took Kai awhile to say something, he had a lot of questions to ask this man. There were no more sound coming from the both of them, only the door that Wilder kept on breaking. But the only question he could say is..

"Why?"

The man stared at Kai in an uncordial way. He questioned at the back of his mind, why did such an ordinary man like him could resist him up close? Just by standing one meter away from a person could cause them to cough up blood. He was a bit intrigued by this man. He wanted to test him.

"One would expect that I cannot get out of here, but maybe that does not apply to you... since you look like a ... ninny"

Even though he had such a rude tone talking to Kai , he didn't minded it, instead, he glanced at the blanket-wrapped corpses, then averted his eyes back to the man infront of him.

He made a decision in his mind that he will agree to let this man out of there, and he'll bring him to the nearest mental hospital. He thought that this guy was a madman, he was initially going to report him to the police, but he figured that the mental hospital suits him better.

Kai has always been an atheist, he doesn't believe in supernatural beings he always thought that everything had an explanation. Including the situation he's in right now. He thought that everything that happened to him just a few minutes ago was just  figment of his imagination, and that he was only hyperventilating because of stress and sleep deprivation.

"...."

"Fine.. I will get you out of here, but... I will have to make sure that my friends can escape without getting hurt"

The man thought for awhile, he then let out a sigh with furrowed brows.

"...Suit yourself"

Wilder who has been very loud, was just about to break the door when it suddenly opened. They were shocked and felt a sense of relief when Kai appeared in front of the door. They immediately rushed to hug him, bawling their eyes out.

"I-I thought we wouldn't see you anymore! WAAAAAH!"

"Seriously, I was so scared! I'm sorry if I made you all come here! This is all my fault!"

"Kai.... What happened to that man?"

They all stopped when Wilder suddenly asked Kai a question. Kai stared at him, but avoided his gaze right away.

"You should all go back first.... I..  need to do something here"

"You are a pretty mollycoddling guy, what about your own safety?"

Kai didn't reply back to his questions, he just continued watching his friends from afar running away from the church.

"There's the gate... You can just walk out from there"

Kai look into the man's eyes with a serious expression, the man was irritated with Kai's rude tone, he thinks that Kai was treating him like a foolish person, he glared at Kai.

"HUH?!"
