"Mom, you won't leave me... right?"

"Of course my dear, I will always stay by your side..."

"No matter what..."

Kai opened his eyes with a blurred vision as a sudden water came out of his eyes, and the first thing he saw was the ceiling of their bedroom that was just plain and monochromatic, although it was also the state of his whole apartment.

'Did I sleep?' he thought as he slowly sat down and rubbed his eyes, he was totally new to the refreshing feeling he had, he wasn't tired nor was he sleepy... It felt weird to him because he couldn't believe he could actually sleep after everything that happened yesterday night, he expected it to be another sleepless night.

He then glanced besides him where Kiernan was lying down. Kai would always stare at Kiernan in the morning as he soundly sleeps, he thought that it might be the only time when his eyebrows wouldn't be knitted together. His frown wouldn't be there, and his cold gaze that would usually look at you as if he's looking down at you would be shut close.

He thought that it's the only time he could see such an attractive face like he was just a normal person, except for the black veins that has also spread to his face... It was the only flaw on his body...

Kai knew after what happened last night, that Kiernan was suffering from a trauma he had in the past and he was contemplating that he has to do something about it.

As he kept thinking of the incident last night, Kai unconsciously touched the cheeks of Kiernan, specifically, the veins. He snapped back and sighed as he realized what he was doing.

"Haa..What am I doing?"

He sighed as if he was already tired if his life, so he moved to the corner of the bed and as soon as he was about to stand up, something pulled his wrist tightly back to the bed as if something didn't want to let him go. Kai turned his head and it turned out, it was Kiernan who was staring daggers at him as his body was in a diagonal position.

"What are you doing? Let go... I still have to prepa--"

"That bruise... on your neck..."

As Kiernan cut off Kai, his face appears to be  solemn but with no hint of a frowned expression. Kai flinched as Kiernan gazes back at his eyes as he stares daggers at him, Kai was uncomfortable, he clenched his teeth and had an obvious grimace on his expressions.

"It's fine, It'll heal in no time"

Kai replied in a persuasive tone as he smacked and got rid of Kiernan's hand. He stood up and faced Kiernan in a hostile way.

"If you're awake, get out of bed already"

Kai walked out and left Kiernan speechless, he knew from Kai's tone and countenance that he was obviously mad. Well, he was the crazy one... and he wasn't egoistic enough to ignore that it was mostly his fault.

Kiernan sat on the round chair as Kai gave him his breakfast, as usual it was egg and bacon, and for Kai, he only ate toasted bread with coffee.

As Kai started munching his toasted bread, he noticed Kiernan didn't touched his food. Kiernan was only looking at it, as if he was admiring it, unfortunately, it wasn't the case, he was frowning and his expression shows a sign of guilt. Well, if he wanted to get rid of it he could just apologize but Kai knew that he might not even know how to apologize to someone.

"Haa... You can forget about what happened last night.. I won't accuse you for doing this, it was clear that you were suffering from something"

Kiernan looked up at Kai and locked eyes with him. Kai thought he would be relieved, but it was exactly the opposite, his furrowed brows knitted further and his jaws were clenching in anger.

"Why won't at least throw a fit?! or you can just throw me out!!"

Kiernan stood up and bursted in anger, he wanted to Kai to get mad at him... Compared to his expectation, Kai was calm, but he was surprised by Kiernan's sudden outbursts.

"Your overacting, I'm not a child to throw a fit because of what happened last night, I won't throw you away too.... Just what book did you read on my shelf?"

As Kai was flabbergasted by Kiernan's ridiculous remark, he questioned him as to where he got those childish ideas  with his left eyebrows lifted up as if judging the other person.

"Anyway... Just sit back and eat your breakfast.."

He continued as he took a sip on his coffee, he then glanced at Kiernan who was about to sit down and grab his utensils. He was oddly quite as he obeyed Kai, since his usual response was to grumble constantly. Kai continued to talk again that made Kiernan's eyes lit up.

"We'll go out later, so take your time to pick an outfit"

Kai gently curled his lips up as he leaned his head on his hand, he was pleased by Kiernan's apparently ecstatic expression.

"Why are you letting me out?"

"Why wouldn't I? Besides, I already took a leave from my part-time job today"

"...Part-time...job? What is that?"

Kai's mouth slightly opened as he was dumbfounded by Kiernan who didn't had even an ounce of idea what part-time job was, even though he's been reading books on Kai's shelf, that  word was new to him, and he has a lot of things that he has yet to find out.

Kai was relieved that he made the right choice to let him out, and now that reading on his books that was barely even helpful of finding out about the modern world wasn't enough, he will also take him to the library.

"Well... It's an employment that only requires fewer hours on the job, it's mostly taken by students, and.. I'm a student"

Kiernan understood what Kai meant, but he was still confused of the ways  of  how modern people do their labor, because for him, it was too free and and seems unrestrained.
