THE HAUNTED HEART : FULL MOON

Chapter 14

Austin and Wilder walked through the sides of the road as they held hands to go to a restaurant on their date, Austin noticed a familiar figure on the other side of the road.

"Oh? Who's that? He looks oddly familiar"

"What? Where?"

Austin knitted his eyebrows as he squinted his eyes to concentrate his vision, while Wilder still kept on looking for the person that Austin was talking about.

"There! That person over there! I mean he looks like he's fighting with someone..."

Austin lifted his arms and pointed at the opposite side of the road in his usual ecstatic tone. Wilder turned his head there and he was surprised when he recognized his face.

"That's Kai!"

"What?! Oh..That's why he looked familiar, Then does that mean the one his arguing with is Kiernan?"

As they spectated on Kai who was obviously fighting with someone which only the back of his body can be seen from their point of view, Wilder was amazed that Kai could actually have an argument with someone. He has never seen Kai getting mad at all, he was still in shock when they saw Kai actually blushing, and now getting mad at someone?  he felt that he's been seeing unexpected sides of Kai since Kiernan lived with him, even rushing to go home...

"Should we stop them?"

"Nah don't mind them, besides, we're on our date today. I can't let anyone to ruin it again"

As Wilder put his arms around Austin's shoulder, he forced him to walk so as not to interfere with Kai's business. Wilder has always been the type to help others if actually needed, but for now, he wants to see the results of Kai's determination, but it may just be an entertainment for him instead of actually trying to make Kai improve his social skills or self-esteem or whatever good reason it is...

"So I'm a deranged person in your eyes huh?!"

Kiernan growled , the way he spoke to Kai was like the day they first met. It made Kai uncomfortable to the point that even his heart throbbed.

"No, Kiernan... Just hear me out, this is.."

"NO!! ... I knew it.... You are no different..."

With his fury complexion, he rejected Kai in a cold and menacing way. Kai was confused. Again, he didn't had any idea what he was talking about. It was like talking to a wall and they were too different to actually understand and communicate with each other.

"Kiernan, I was just-- KIERNAN!!"

Kiernan walked off even though he doesn't know where to go, Kai couldn't stop Kiernan, he thought of chasing after him, but after a step, he hesitatingly thought what he would say if he catched up to him.

The two of them were supposed to have fun as it's Kiernan's first time to go out after staying at home for weeks, but before they were supposed to do that, Kai made a mistake. Before they got into this kind of situation, we are going back to the time they were still in the house.

"You should change your clothes"

"What do you mean?"

Kai was speechless of how Kiernan clothed himself, don't assume that he looked bad, because he wasn't. He looked especially good, dazzling in fact. He wore a black turtleneck sweater, tucked in his grayish brown pants, and made a wonderful combination with a brown trench coat that he just curiously took.

Even though he was stuck in a church, he had a surprisingly good sense of fashion. It made Kai secretly  disappointed, he didn't knew the reason, but he didn't want to find out so he made Kiernan to change again.

"Just wear this, casual clothes are better we're not going out to have a date"

"..."

The word 'date' rang in Kiernan's ears, it was as if someone was echoing the word in his head. As Kai layed out a simple shirt and jeans for him, Kiernan unconsciously smiled. Kai noticed that and he was surprised. It was Kai's first time seeing Kiernan genuinely smiling. 'He must be very excited to finally go out' Kai thought at the back of his mind.

"Let's go"

"So where are we going?"

As they walked on the road, Kai glanced at Kiernan who just questioned him, although he focused his eyes in front of him immediately.

"Before that, we'll have to make a quick stop somewhere"

Unfortunately, Kiernan didn't understand Kai, so his only reply was to nod at him and Kai smiled.

Although, when Kiernan and Kai walked and walked in a hallway, Kiernan stopped and looked at a sign that grabbed his attention. And he knew at that moment what Kai was trying to do. Kai was a bit surprised when he suddenly stopped and looked at his side, specifically, he was looking at a door

"Haa... Fvck, a psychiatrist?"

At that moment, Kiernan felt a sudden rush of blood that flowed to his head. He was mad. He scowled, and his eyebrows that was already all furrowed up, knitted further.

"Am I joke to you? Do you think I would not find out just because I  cannot understand your people? Well, guess what? I have read most of the books on your shelf, enough for me to understand what this word means!!"

"What? Kiernan, I wasn't trying to hide it from you... I just want us to have one session today and we can have fun after that"

The fact that Kai remained calm, made Kiernan pissed even more. Now he thinks that Kai is just treating him as a bratty, and immature child and it ticked him even more.

"No matter what you say... I'm getting out of here"

Kiernan walked out of the building. Kai made a big exhalation and touched his face with his left hand, he didn't thought that Kiernan would get mad. Kai then immediately catched up to Kiernan.

"Kiernan wait, I can explain!"

"And what would you have to explain, HUH?!"

Kiernan bursted in anger as he turned himself to Kai. Kai flinched when he suddenly shouted, and people who were passing by glanced at them, whispering.

"Kiernan, let's talk somewhere private. There are too many people here...you're too agitated."

Kiernan snapped. He felt like Kai was treating him like he was an immature and crazy person, when people would look at them, he would feel like he's the one with a fault. And thinking about that made Kiernan scoffed.

"Why? Are you embarrassed? Because you are fighting with someone who is completely loose screwed on the head huh?!"

Kai was taken aback by Kiernan who was constantly shouting as he pressed his head with his fingers. Kai bowed his head down and clenched his fist.

"Why can't you just listen to me.."
