THE HAUNTED HEART : FULL MOON

Chapter 12

"Seriously, why was he in a hurry?.. HIC... Is he worried about Kiernan? jeez... HIC... I swear, something really ha... HIC...ppened"

Wilder took a sip on his drink as Austin drunkenly complained and blabbered. He knew something was up with Kai, but he only remained silent.

As Kai ran towards his apartment, a fragment of his memory from the time they were traveling outside of Morton suddenly flashed through his vision.

As Kai focused his gaze on the lake, he saw a human-like figure standing infront of it. He thought that maybe he was imagining it because it's been so long since he could sleep, but it looked like a woman wearing a red dress. He wasn't sure because the car was speeding, he couldn't find an opportunity to look back.

Kai realized why that woman in front of the restaurant was strangely familiar, but he was anxious and felt creeped out why that woman followed him.... So he went home as fast as he can because he felt a detrimental feeling inside of him..

He knew since the time he was inside the restaurant that the woman wasn't a human... but all he could think about was Kiernan, who was alone in the house....

Kai stood in front of his apartment with his hands on his chest as he gasped for air. After panting for a while, he entered his passcode and as soon as it unlocked, he promptly opened the door in an instant.

"Kiernan, I'm sorry if I-... Kiernan?"

Kai stopped as soon as he saw Kiernan curled up on the floor with his hands holding his hair tightly gripped.

"Kiernan?! What's wrong?!"

".......all of you......."

As Kai anxiously questioned Kiernan, he noticed that Kiernan kept on mumbling something.

"What?"

As Kai tried to lower his head to hear what he was saying, Kiernan suddenly screamed with a screeching sound.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

His eyes widened in fear and distress, his piercing scream was full of anguish, consumed by his emotional suffering from his past...

"KILL THAT BOY! HE WILL BE OUR SACRIFICE!! DO NOT LET HIM ESCAPE!!"

"No one will come for you, little devil! No one wants a worthless boy like you, who even wants to love you?!"

"AAHH?!! DON'T TOUCH ME! How could I ever give birth to a disgusting creature like you..."

"AAAAAH!!! PLEASE DO NOT KILL US!!"

"I BEG OF YOU!! PLEASE DON'T-- AAAAHH!!"

Kiernan's eyes darkened as he continued to scream. He could no longer contain the anguish and loneliness that he's been feeling since the time of his isolation...

"ALL OF YOU ARE THE SAME!! YOU ONLY USE ME FOR YOUR OWN GAIN!!! I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU! I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU!!"

"DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE--"

"K-Kier-nan, I.. can't keugh! breath.."

Kiernan snapped back to his senses. His blurred and darkened eyes lit again, and he has yet to realize what he's done.

He was straddling on top of Kai, his hands were wrapped tightly on his throat as if to choke him to death. Kai, who was struggling to breath with his mouth wide open, as he tried to get as much air as he can due to lack of oxygen while he pleaded to Kiernan with his tears running down from his cheeks.

Kiernan finally let go of his hands, realizing what he's done, and Kai took the chance and pushed Kiernan away from him and slid away as he coughed from how Kiernan choked him tightly, it was clear for Kai that Kiernan wanted to kill him, and he was horrified as he trembled with fear.

Kiernan was having cold sweats, hyperventilating as he was trying to process in his mind what he's done, and with a dilated eyes... He repeatedly kept on questioning and asking his self to stop.

"I... I did it again... I did it again? no.. no... NO... NO!!! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!..."

Kiernan continued to scream, and this time, he was hurting himself... He kept banging his head on the floor, repeating it again and again and again until it bled.... Kai was alarmed, and he was scared, he was overwhelmed by the situation, he didn't know how to stop him, it was as if he was frozen in place.

Everytime Kiernan hit his head on the floor, Kai would flinch and his mouth would slightly open, he would start to say Kiernan's name but neither him or Kiernan can hear it.

As the banging sound slowly faded away, a heavy and sudden thud reverberated the room. Kiernan collapsed on the floor, Kai was startled but after that, he sighed in relief as his eyebrows furrowed. That really sobered him right up...

"Kiernan?"

Kai approached Kiernan slowly as he carefully touched him. Kiernan was drenched with sweat, he might seem warm but as Kai felt his skin, he was cold and even though Kiernan has always been pale, he seems frail and and was panting too much.

Kai had no choice but to put him in bed and tend to him and his injury on his forehead.

After putting Kiernan to bed and tending to his wounds, he stared at his own reflection on the bathroom mirror, there was a slight bruise on his neck, he sighed in frustration as he lowered his head.

He walked towards the bedroom where Kiernan was lying, he sat down besides him and stared at him for a while.

"I tried to believe in ghosts but what's this? I don't even know if this is an illness or a trauma..."

"Just what have you gone through... To make you like that?"

Kai tilted his head as he questioned Kiernan in a soft voice, although he's question wasn't answered, he remained on his position as he  continued to gaze at Kiernan's face.

"Haa.... I should've came home early..."

"No...please... Don't leave me...."

Kai noticed that Kiernan was sleep talking, and a tear ran down from his right eye. Kai rubbed Kiernan's cheeks where his tears was at. He felt an excruciating pain on his chest as he wiped Kiernan's tears and sighed...

"I won't leave you... I haven't even got an answer from you"

"Wether you're a human or not..."
