Chapter 5

"Are you trying to annoy me?"

"I would not have asked a simpleton like you... to get me out of here, if I could walk out however I wanted!!"

Kai stared at the man who was fuming with anger, he was dumbfounded by his remarks that the only thing he could do was to let out a sigh. 

Kai was now determined to put him straight to the hospital as soon as they'll leave. He then reached out his hand to the man, the man glanced at it with his cold gaze.

"Then..."

The man thought that Kai wanted something in return, and he felt aggravated thinking about it, he thought at that moment that humans never changed, they're still the same greedy people .....  But no, what he expected was not Kai's intention.

"Would you like to hold my hand?"

The man was startled when he unexpectedly made such a request, his face quickly turned to a disgusted expression.

"And just what are you scheming right now? I understand that I am enticing, but I do not go for men"

Kai ,who was being patient the whole time despite being annoyed with the  guy's constant insults to him finally made a furrowed expression, but still smiles at the madman.... in a sarcastic way.. he forcedly picked up the man's right hands and put it at his left hand

"Well, it just seemed like you were nervous ... Just trust me, you can get out of here without even a scrape"

The man was acquiescent when Kai said that, he quietly followed Kai to the gate. Kai glanced at the man and took a big step out of the gate, he followed him back, he was momentarily speechless when he could finally get out of the church.

"Ha!"

"HAHAHAHAHA.... HAA!"

"You are indeed an intriguing person! You were the only one who managed to-- Ugh!"

Kai was taken aback when the man suddenly collapsed on the ground. Kai immediately approached him.

"Hey! What happened to you? Are you okay?"

"Ugh! I'm fi-AAAAAHHH!!! F*CK!"

The man brushed off Kai's hand from his shoulder even though he was in such excruciating pain, he was clutching his chest as he screamed. He was in a fetal position and was hyperventilating, Kai was already overwhelmed and didn't know what to do. He suddenly lifted up the man's face without any hesitation.

"Please! Calm-- wha..."

The man was no longer screaming, Kai replaced his worried and anxious expression to being..stunned. They were staring at each other, and the man felt warm inside.

As soon as Kai touched his face he was no longer in pain, and he liked the feeling of warmth from his palms ....though it was different for Kai, he saw a vivid black veins from his face down to his neck, it might've started somewhere in his body, but he knew that those veins were not there before he started screaming.

"What is-- Ah! Hey!"

Before he could continue his question, the madman suddenly collapsed.

"Haa" "haa"

"Ugh! You're so heavy!"

Kai was carrying the man on his back , he's currently on the road trying to go back to the cabin with the man on his back, who was literally bigger and heavier than him.

The man finally opened his eyes, the first thing he saw.... Was a head. He was startled so he tried to get off.

"Ah! Hey! stop it!"

After getting off from Kai, Kai was stretching his arms and massaged his shoulders, after that, he noticed that the man was looking at the sky, no, to be specific, he was looking at the moon.

"It has  been too long since I saw this"

Kai glanced at the moon. He wondered how many years the man has been isolating himself in that abandoned church just because of an illness he bore. Then he thought, that might've been the reason he had gone crazy if he's been staying there his whole life.

"I forgot to mention this a while ago.... What is your name?"

Kai was surprised when the man asked for his name. He smiled at the unexpected question.

"Kai... Kai Vanderbilt, and yours?"

"..."

"Kiernan... only Kiernan"

The man named Kiernan surprisingly had no surname, the reason might've been because it was forgotten, or he was adopted, or there was another reason ....But no matter what it was, Kai didn't mind it. He suggested that they continue to walk as they're already close to the cabin.

" Should we...call the police?"

Austin was picking on his nails on the coach as he made the suggestion, he was nervous and worried that something might've happened to Kai, Wilder and Jett felt the same.

"Kai is smart, he knows what he's doing, and it's only been an hour since then... Let's just wait for him"

Wilder sat next to Austin and got rid of his hands, which he'd constantly been picking for a while, and hugged him.

Jett was anxious and was full of guilt as he thinks that this is all his fault. He's been walking in circles for a while, thinking what he should do.
Just as he decided that he will go back to get Kai, the front door suddenly opened.

All of them ran towards the door, but instead of being happy and relieved, they were confused  and looked scared when they saw a man behind Kai.

"Oh! I'm sorry it took me so long, were you worried?"

"Kai! Don't tell me that man..!"

"Oh... Uh.. I can explain"

Kai glanced at Kiernan who was staring at the cabin, fascinated by the design and the lighting, although, Kai thought that they won't recognize him, he immediately averted his eyes to Kiernan's attire. Of course they will recognize him even though they didn't saw his face, his cloak that he's been wearing from the beginning made a lasting impression to them.

"Why don't we talk in private? Kiernan!"

As Kai was leading his friends upstairs, Kiernan already entered the cabin, he immediately turned his head to Kai who just mentioned his name, although, his gaze was fixated on Kai's  hands that were touching the back of his friends.

"Can you stay there for a few minutes? We won't be long, just... Make yourself at home"

Jett flinched when Kai suddenly said that, he whispered to Kai that it's his cabin, and as to why he would let that guy feel at home. Kai just insisted to not mind his words, and they'll have to talk about that matter once they get there.... But Kiernan didn't want to be left alone.

"Why can I not come along?"
