Dev's POV

As soon as I started working, in about half an hour I got tired.

Sooo tired.

My head slumped down between my shoulders and I sighed, my eyes were already hurting from looking at the screen. Honestly whoever created the devices need to be taught not to use too bright lights. I put my hands on my neck and the side of my head, to crack my neck, then placed my phone on my right palm, clenching it with my fingers, and started to scroll YouTube.

Some funny videos kept me company for a while, and I laughed a bit. Making funny comments and reading others' comments were my favourite hobby. It kept my mind off from work and heavy stuff, which kept me busy. And kept me satisfied with a distracted environment.

I was scrolling for no idea how long, when I noticed Madhav da walking over to my desk, and pressing his hands against it, propping himself and looking at my screen.

"YouTube huh? What are you watching?"

I turned my head towards him and smiled, placing my left hand over my right shoulder and looking at him with pleading eyes, "my shoulder is feeling stiff, please massage it a bit?"

"Oho, making me work just because I stopped you from watching videos huh?" He smirked and walked back to his desk. He always did it, because his department had the least of works.

Forest department, the department with least bit of tension, just giving orders around the others, and just hosting the visits. Only thing good about them was the manager, Aijaz Sir. He loved me a lot almost as his son. He gifted me a nice pair of trousers on my birthday. He even invited me on his daughter's birthday. Once he joked about marrying me off to his daughter but, she's only 12, and I'm 22. Like, bro I don't wanna go to jail, not now, not ever. Even if it's in the future still a no, a BIG no.

"Dev, come here!" Gautam da called from his desk, I looked over to see that Madhav da was at his desk now. Obviously, a gossip was going around, but about who?

I pushed my chair back and got up, about to go there but suddenly my phone pinged and I looked at it.

Unknown: Hey, you didn't text me back?

I clicked the side lock button and locked my phone, then put it back in my pocket. I didn't wanna deal with that unknown person right now.

I walked over to their desk, and looked at where Gautam da was pointing. It was just nothing, they were stalking random girls again.

"Dev, look at this one." Gautam da scrolled the profile in Instagram, and showed me some of the nsfw photos from that profile.

"Hmm, good." I raised my eyebrows and tilted my head towards him, indicating I'm following where his mind is going.

Gross...

I hate these type of people who'd show everything literally for views. I mean, is that really that important? Social life, to an extent that you sell your whole dignity just for some views?

And I can't blame them entirely, my own gender is doing these, following, encouraging, commenting, viewing. Viral videos of half naked, semi naked, full naked ( almost ) getting posted around regularly. Meta would eventually ban you if you say "Fuck" in the comment, but if you actually do "Fuck" they will do nothing. Maybe they'll just watch you "Fuck" instead.

People need entertainment after all, don't they?

I laughed around with them for a while, too much for friends. They scrolled a while more, and we laughed a while more. I wondered where the seniors were, like we juniors just spending our time like this, and the seniors aren't even here yet. Wow!

When the clock struck 11 am, I excused myself from the small stalk session. In that while, we stalked 6 profiles, watched their videos, some comments passed by Madhav da, and some laughs by Gautam da. Me, I was just looking down at my phone and playing Pacman. It was free game from Google play, so why not?

I went back to my desk, and sat down. Looking up and closing my eyes. I rolled my lips and blew a sigh, then straightened myself opening my work files, sorting through them.

Halfway there, I started wondering if Vani did have any social media. I had Instagram, yes. I didn't use Facebook much, so there was no option.

I decided to open Instagram web, opening it I straight went to the search engine. My fingers went over the keyboard as I wrote her name, but no satisfaction.

There were countless Vanya Singh, but none looked like her. It was not good, it would be hard to find her.

"I guess you use some kind of pen name, do you, Vani?"

I talked to myself and bit my lower lip. Thinking a while, putting pressure on my brain. Then suddenly, the thoughts came in my mind.

"Vani Singh..." I searched with her nickname, most people use their nickname as a cool feature, or style more often. Not many people prefer using their original name over social media and I had started to get it too. So hoping and crossing my fingers, I started scrolling through the profile list.

None of them looked exactly like her, but some of them had animated pictures, so I opened them. But none of them had the pictures of her in it.

After scrolling through some more profiles, I was about to give up. Just then I noticed a profile, that had a girl looking the other way, and a red cap on her head, wearing a cream coloured sweatshirt, and using her mobile camera to click a selfie.

"This gotta be her!" I was smiling being positive and I clicked the icon to open the profile. As soon as it opened, I started scrolling through the pictu-

There was no picture.

Not a single one!

What?!

A girl who was so fond of clicking pictures of herself, had no pictures?

I clicked the chat option and sent her a text.

D: Hello? Vani? This is Dev, recognised me? :)

I sighed and ran my left hand fingers through my hair. I minimised the chrome page and pushed myself up from the chair, turning back to find myself shocked.

In front of me, was none other than the gossip master. Mister Jitendra Singh.

"Who is that girl? Whom are you stalking?" His mouth fell open and his eyebrows raised, he tilted his head up asking me thoroughly.

I guess, stalking was not exactly my thing.
